Rolfing and Physical Reality

Rate this book
A warm and wise self-portrait of the woman who originated the therapy that bears her name. Here, Ida Rolf tells about her life, about the wonder of the human body, about life in general, and about Rolfing in particular, explaining her technique of manipulating muscle tissue to allow the body to come into its correct alignment.
After Rolfing, your body has been encouraged to do what it wants to do--you move with ease, your lungs take in more air, and you are taller (and therefore, slimmer).

In any cross-legged position, one leg is always higher than the other. You can go into it for an hour, half an hour, but it consistenly you sit for hours in that positon , you are going to change home position in the pelvis, legs, knees, feet, there is no quesion about it.

Rofing makes a study of relation bodies and thier field ot eh earth and its gravity field.

Recommended by one of my anatomy teachers. Written in bits so easy to pick up and just read a snippet of Ida's wisdom.

This book is basically a collection of Ida Rolf's thoughts on Rolfing and the body, most less than a page long. She has a lot of good ideas! And gives you a lot to think about!

Ida Rolf is the mother of the connective tissue disease theory. The body pain due to postural issues is lead to thick and not flexible fascia tissue. Consider that german scientiests confirm this correlation...I suggest the reading...
