When grumpy firefighter Leo finally answers the wrong number text he's been getting for several days, he has no idea pixels on a screen could be so hot—or make him want things he's never wanted before.
Dixie has always been quiet, shy, and reserved. Until she "meets" Leo. He's got the once shy librarian shedding her inhibitions and growing her confidence in their texts and calls—and it even starts spilling out into her everyday life. Part of her revels in her secret life—but part of her secretly wishes for more.
They never share more than first names, but each texting encounter gets hotter and hotter—and more intimate than either of them ever imagined. But you can't trust a stranger on the phone. Not really. You can't ache for something you've never had. And you certainly can't fall in love with someone you've never even met, can you?
Author Welcome to Brazen Bay, a small town I crafted just to explore that feeling of so wrong it's right. Just because something is forbidden or taboo doesn't make it wrong, does it? (You'd have to see the pictures on their phones to answer that.) Gruff Leo and sweet Dixie are perfect strangers and perfectly naughty when they let their guards down with someone for the first time. What starts as an innocent wrong number turns into something much more daring. Bonus points if you read this wrong number romance on your phone.
Brill Harper is a pseudonym. Like…a secret identity. By day she’s Clark Kent, writing romance books for young adults and grownups. By night, she’s Brill Harper writing unfailingly filthy, yet super sweet books, that would make her alter ego blush.
She especially likes to writes book about quirky, awkward heroines and alpha bad boys. Well, except that they are really alphamallows once they fall in love. Seriously--these heroes only have one weakness, and it's sticky, sweet love. They don't let anything stand in the way of taking what belongs to them. Ooey-gooey marshmallow hearts in big, burly dominating dudes. What's not to love about that?
Brill's books are filthy/sweet for when you're in the mood for something a little over the top. Okay, a lot over the top. Sorry, not sorry.

I can’t believe I’m having such a crazy physical response to a woman on the phone. I know absolutely nothing about her. Hell, she could have lied about her age. Maybe she’s a fifty-year-old dude living in his mother’s basement.
As the title suggests Leo is receiving Dixie’s texts by mistake. What begins as light-hearted messages between two strangers quickly escalates to sexting. This was a dirty read featuring a librarian and a fireman (oh the fantasies we could spin) who take the simple act of texting to a new level of masturbation, dick pics, and talks of impregnating even before they’ve met. It was cliché and light, and an hour well spent!
Dixie: Why is that your fantasy?
Leo: I love how you get, all flustered and naughtier, when we talk about going raw. When we talk about my cum dripping out of you.
This started off pretty well for me. I’ve always liked a story that the couple corresponds via text/email. Dixie was given the wrong number after a car accident and it just happens to belong to Leo- the grumpy fire Captain who is several years older than her. What happens next is sexting that was hot hot hot!
My biggest beef that brought my rating down was the narrator. Normally I can adapt easily to the narrator but not this time. It definitely took away from my enjoyment of the story.
-no cheating -no ow/om drama -minor pushing away that doesn’t last very long however- I was disappointed that Leo didn’t try to talk to Dixie after her voice mail. I wanted him to be an alpha male and to after what he wanted. Had they not ran into each other, who knows what would have happened -older man/younger woman -steamy -no violence of a sexual nature -safe- neither with others after meeting -secondary characters - he mentioned his buddy drew who is a player who never sleeps alone. I will definitely skip his story -no epilogue which dropped my rating as well. No epilogue is just a major let down for me.

This book is sweet, sexy, funny and touching. Leo has a hard and dangerous job. Dixie is a bit gun shy. A wrong text starts it all. It’s a fun and joyous ride to their HEA.
This was a quick read. It was steamy, insta-love and sweet. I liked both Dixie and Leo. They were sweet together. I liked that Leo brought out her naughty side and made her feel confident. Loved the dirty talk. I just wished it was a bit more lengthy because the concept was interesting. The author’s writing style was good. If you’re looking for a fast paced and smutty book, then go for this. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I remember reading the first chapter of this in Brill’s newsletter. I even told her I absolutely loved it and couldn’t wait for me. It was intriguing and different and fun. I didn’t finish reading it. I wanted to wait until the whole thing was finished. Loved this book. I just wish it was longer and we got more. This is an instalove but with a different story than we are use to. I can’t wait for the next books to come out and see more of Dixie and Leo. They were amazing. I sure do love me an alpha male and a firefighter 👨🚒 yummy!!
I haven't had a ton of time recently to sit down and read a long book...even though I have like 4 I'm supposed to start reading. I picked this up for a short and sexy read. It was super cute and hot. Great little bedtime read.
Quick and Dirty! This was super short and at least half of it was dirty talk 🥵. Have I ever mentioned I'm a big fan of dirty talk? Not much else to say; a small pet peeve of mine is when new characters are obviously set up for their own books, but it's nbd.
Oh myyyy!!!!!! This was a fun read! But so short 😭😭😭 I wanted more!
I love love loooooooooooooooove mousy librarian h books with a big ol man 😂😂😍 he's 38 and she's 23 who wants lots of babies and he wants to give them to her. They start off by texting each other because she was given a wrong number by a guy who hit her car but they continue sexting 😏
Its a small world after all will play in the back of your head while you read towards the end
Holy Hotness. I wish I got texts like this. This story was HOT!!! Enough said. You will need to read this book to see what I mean. You won't be disappointed.
This was complete rubbish. - She: “you act like I have 2 personalities” - He: “that’s because all women do” ‘Scuse me bish, keep your sexist talk to yourself and kindly fuck off.
Also, saying “I love you” after talking for 2 weeks on the phone and finally seeing each other in real life? During sex? Proceeding to get engaged after? Nah sorry, completely ridiculous
3.5* A quick, cute, hot story. A grumpy firefighter returns a text to a woman who was given the wrong number. Then things turn hot and heavy when they start a sexting relationship. I listened to the audio. It was ok it was a bit confusing in the beginning with the texting and the narrator sounded older than the character should be.
I first read this when Brill Harper released it as a serial in her newsletter. I couldn't wait for Monday to come (never thought I'd ever say that!) because that's when the next chapter would get sent to my inbox!
I've read every one of Ms. Harper's books and this one is at the top of my list!!! I liked that Dixie wasn't a virgin (which is the norm with almost all of her books) and that the age gap between Leo of Dixie wasn't so huge. It still had all the sexy and sweet and dirty things I love about her books too!
The sex scenes are very explicit and very detailed. If that's your thing then you'll enjoy this book!
(I wish the female cover model had the correct hair color. Dixie is blonde, not brunette. But this doesn't affect the actual awesomeness of the book, just a note.)
I absolutely fell in love with this book. I love the way the characters related to each other through the text messages, I love the way they finally (finally!) meet, and I love the emotional depth that envelopes them and gave me a serious case of the warm fuzzies.
The author doesn't shy away from the hard questions here either, shining a light on the true nature of Leo's job without offering an unrealistic conflict-free solution for Dixie. The characters are all so beautifully developed, even the secondary characters, that I fairly leapt for joy when I found out the author is continuing to write in this wonderful fictional world. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Leo finally answers the wrong number texts he has been receiving he and Dixie being texting each other. As they learn more and more, sparks begin to fly and the texts get sexier and sexier. Will they discover who each other is? Fast-paced read with plenty of drama and steam. The story is fun and entertaining and I really liked the characters.
Such a nice, quick listen in this book. To meet and fall for someone over the phone without ever seeing them in person was a great way to make this book stand out from others. I really enjoyed listening to this and the narration was fantastic!
Super over the top and I think I would have prefered a longer build up to the sexting - this would have made a great full-length novel. But I loved the texting element to this book and the OTT steamy ridiculousness. I'm excited to read the rest of this series!

WRONG NUMBER TEXT was a quick and sexy read and I loved the set up of a wrong number leading to some very raunchy texting! Dixie is shy and lacks confidence but through the phone she can start to explore her more empowered and sexy side and Leo gratefully benefits. He's nearing 40 and he's never had a serious relationship but when he starts talking to Dixie he sees a future with a wife and kids.
These two spend a lot of time texting before they ever meet and the distance allows each of them to open up. I do wish we saw more of their nonsexual conversations so that we as the reader could see that growth in their relationship, but it's a really short book, so you get what you get. Yes it's instalust and instalove, in typical Brill Harper fashion, but it was just so much fun to read that I didn't care.
