Sigh...when I am approached with an ARC offer I always make a point of asking if there is any OW drama or cheating to avoid reading a book I know won't work for me, thus also avoiding giving an author a low rating. Two times in this book the hero Zero blows off Mallory (once on a date, and once when they JUST got back together) to hang out with his ex fuck buddy girlfriend. And he doesn't just hang out. He kisses the ex. Hugs her. Lets her hang all over him. Sit on his lap. All in front of Mallory!! Twice...people. TWICE. Then he legit acts clueless as to why Mallory is upset!! The mind boggles...



I had a plethora of other issues with this one as well. It moved too fast for me to feel any connection between the mains (2 weeks). I mean, the heroine had JUST broke up with her fiancee, and both her and hero acted like toddlers most of the time. (Well, if toddlers were alcoholic whores, I mean). All anyone every did in this book was drink, sleep around, or fight. The first chapter was almost completely repeated near the end of the book. We got zero resolution to the Amanda situation. Like, was she going to be popping into their relationship for the rest of their lives??

Ya, I'll stop there. This one just wasn't great for me. I finished it though, so there is that at least! (lol)

I need to let you know that I almost didn’t finish the book. For me, this was a tough one to read. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t that I didn’t like the book or the subject matter, but it took me longer to connect with Mallory and Beau. The beginning of the book was a bit off-putting for me. Maybe I shouldn’t say that but considering that I spent most of my 20’s in a drunken stupor when I wasn’t working, it was kinda like a trigger for me.

One thing that I loved was the dual points of view. I really like it when an author writes in first person, dual points of view. I’m old now, so what to know what my hero and heroine are thinking, doing, reacting to. Most people don’t like that but I do. Ms. Brown’s characterizaton of Beau and Mallory is well written and descriptive. Once I got over the first chapter, the book really flowed for me. It starts in the present, the middle is their relationship and the ending is spot on. Normally, NA writers try to write like we THINK the characters talk and act. Ms. Brown nails this aspect of the book. Maybe that’s why I just cringed during most of the book. Trust me, I was no angel at this age and at times, I felt like she was writing about my life.

Beau and Mallory are terrific characters, once the book started moving along. Again, it took me longer to connect but once I did, I fell in love with them. Mallory has had a horrible relationship before that just about destroyed her and poor Beau, he was just trying too hard. In fact, at times, I couldn’t believe that Mallory put up with him but that’s what makes their relationship work. Opposites do attract and these two couldn’t be more opposite. This book is both sweet and spicy, so be warned.

Overall, I really liked the book. Mallory and Beau grew on me in the end and I enjoyed them getting their HEA. It was a hard row for them but in the end, it is worth it.

This is a new edition of the original Can't Let Go and it is soooo much better! The writing is smoother and the characters are better developed, not to mention it is a cleaner read.
Same as before, Mallory is visiting Georgia to escape a bad breakup however in this edition, the timeline of how much time she spends with Beau is much clearer. There is an instant attraction but the story is no longer instant lovey which is nice and the previous references to an abusive relationship that was never rectified are gone. Now Mallory's ex is just the usual cheating bastard.
Beau's character is consistent between this edition and the discontinued first edition. However, unnecessary drama and details about him and a previous lover that bogged the story down are also gone.
Overall, I found this version a fun, light read that is appropriate for all audiences. The scenarios portrayed are relatable and the dialogue between characters is very realistic. I recommend this book to everyone looking for a sweet romance.

This is a comfortable NA contemporary romance read, it doesn't give you those heart attack when you're reading this book . This book started of at present then went back to the past and start writing about the start of the two main characters relationship . Continue to proceed till the end of the novel's timeline. It was a tad bit confusing at first but after a few more pages it should be fine and won't be a problem anymore.

overall its a light and comfortable read and I do recommend this book to people who have more of a mature mindset :)

A bond that cant be broken

We all have that one person we pined over. Someone that ignites that spark when you see them. I loved how the damaged relationship of Beau and Mallory didn't stop their feelings from pushing them towards each other like an irresistible rope that stopped them going their separate ways. I couldn't put this down and I'm a 34 year old bloke that doesn't usually do romance 10/10.

A well-crafted but generic love story with the refreshing concept of dual point of view characters

What I liked with book was that it was well-crafted and easy to follow. It's written in first person but from both the lovers point of view which is refreshing.
What I was less enthusiastic with was that a lot of names was dropped seemingly without introduction. Also the title could bit a bit more unique

This was such a sweet book. I loved the dynamics between Marley and Beau. Marley doesn't want to like him, but she can't help it. He wins her over, then wins her heart, then breaks her heart (jerk). Luckily he fixes things, well sort of. A must read for a feel good, believable book boyfriend. I'd take a Beau anyday.

Can’t Let Go is a story for the heart. I was sucked in by the first paragraph and didn’t want to put it down. It left me longing to find out what would become of Mallory and Beau’s relationship. A wonderfully written book filled with emotions and feelings that many people will relate to. I absolutely will be recommending it to all of my girlfriends.

I liked how relatable this relationship was. Beau reminds me so much of my husband. They may be wrong for each other, but they are passionate and full of fire. Can't wait for book 2

I don't think that this couple should have been together. In the first half of the novel, I really thought that they were a good fit! They had an instant attraction towards one another, and they were sensitive to each other's emotions. But then things started to go downhill.

I felt like the characters were actually intoxicated for 50% of the book. Most of the story was just them hopping from party to party, from bar to bar, getting drunk, doing things that they regret, and then having to get over the things that they regretted doing. At one point in the story, I was just saying to myself "oh what are they going to do now?" whenever they made the decision to go out yet again.

Beau is not really someone that even seems like he needs "settling down." He seems pretty laidback, not even that much of a partier honestly. The only girl that was all over him in this book was his ex from high school. Speaking of this ex, she causes way too much drama. Beau is so much of a pushover that he lets her kiss him IN FRONT of Mallory! And then when Mallory goes to dance with his friend and his friend kisses her without her even asking for it, Beau gets mad at her. Like cmon, you just basically made out with a years old ex right in front of her two seconds ago. Even if she wanted this kiss from one of your friends, she would have actually deserved to get it without repercussions this time!

This brings me to the next point. Mallory has intense trust issues. Beau could literally be doing anything, and Mallory would assume that he was out with the girlfriend that he repeatedly said that he did not have. It was just so ridiculous at one point, and no one ever questions why she has these issues. It just lead to a bunch of little fights between her and Beau, and this was before the ex even showed up again. That would have been the time for Mallory to actually get mad at Beau for a reason, but then she gets kissed against her will, and Beau gets mad at her. Mallory's issues are touched upon when her ex-boyfriend and her family situation is discussed, but I barely remember what exactly it was. It was a very brief discussion.

My favorite part of this book was during the scene where Mallory was in a bit of trouble. I can't say too much about that because it is a big spoiler for the book, but it was my favorite overall part of the book. I give the book an extra star for this scene, just because it was exciting.

Overall, this was a bit of an underwhelming romance read. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it, but if you have some time and you want to read it, then you could try it! You might end up still enjoying it! It is a very short read.

This is a story for people who love those hot and heavy quick romances with a lot of ups and downs. Beau is the smoking hot cowboy type who has been a playboy of sorts for a while, until he meets Mallory. Mallory is damaged goods thanks to her abusive ex-boyfriend. She has actually come up to Georgia to get away from the chaos that she left behind her. She also needs to heal.

The two of them meet and are quite drawn to each other with an incredible intensity. And then at the same time, they have a lot of difficulty communicating with each other. Beau has a short temper, though he is never physical with her. Mallory is so damaged from her ex that she easily misinterprets the smallest things. I give them credit for wanting to try to take things slow, because of their issues. Just perhaps the timing wasn't the greatest with her recent breakup? And there are a few other things that she doesn't reveal until much later in the story.

I appreciate the dual point-of-view in this story because it really helps to get into each of their heads and understand where they're coming from and how they're really feeling. That method of storytelling doesn't always work for me, but it did in this case. It's also interesting how the story dives in to present day before going back to the beginning. Let's just say that you have a completely different perspective of their argument when you come back to the present day again after going through the flashback.

It really is a roller coaster of a ride. I admit that this is the first time in a while that I have felt a little too old for the characters and had a harder time relating to them. I'm not as much of a fan of the games and mood swings. I wanted to try to step into the story in a sort of big sister role and try to help Mallory figure out what's going on in her head so that she can appropriately navigate this new kind of relationship. I want to do the same for Beau and help him figure out how to handle Mallory. I also want to smack the two of them upside the head for being so overly emotional. At the same time, I was rooting them to figure out their issues and make the right decisions for their respective situations.

Just because this wasn't necessarily my favorite story doesn't mean that others aren't going to completely swoon over it. That's the beauty of having so many stories available. I'm not opposed to reading more in the series. It will be interesting to see how Beau and Mallory continue to evolve as the stories in this world continue.

This was a really fun and easy read. The characters were authentic and felt like real people. Their emotions, especially Mallory's felt raw and often poignant. I loved how passionate they were and how intoxicated they were on their own emotions.
There's a pretty serious case of insta love/lust. I'm not put off by it (since it cuts straight to the fun part) but some people might think it's too fast so if you really don't like insta lust maybe consider that.


But honestly, Mallory should date someone more stable and caring. I know they're in love but love isn't enough when they're so dysfunctional. Also irked me how so many of the characters were quick to physical violence and how nonchalant they were about it.

My favorite part was near the end when Mallory confronts Tristan and basically tells him to fuck off. I liked how she experiences some growth and gains confidence.

The author did a great job recreating the feeling of young adult angst and the frustrations of family expectations. She brought to life the dramas of working your way through the minefield of young love. As young adults her characters were still developing the skills necessary to be effective communicators. Until then they encounter the pitfalls of stupidity and us readers are along for the ride. The journey was tough in some parts, especially with hindsight being 20/20. But, the good parts were really good! Mallory is described as “beautiful, broken, and daring,” I just loved that description. She maybe beautifully broken, but her strength is to be admired. I really liked the characters and my aching heart traveled their path routing them on along the way. This was an enjoyable story.

This is the first book of the Georgia Boys series. Meet Beau and Mallory, both characters are in their twenties. Mallory comes to Georgia to wipe a bad breakup from her mind and is only here for a short time, seems to be about two weeks. She is not looking for anything at the moment but Beau seems to be seriously interested. Beau sees Mallory and he is determined to get her attention but she doesn't seem to see him, at first. Beau works to get Mallory to give him a chance, he is well aware of his two week deadline and having to follow a crappy ex. Can Beau get Mallory to take a chance in love again? Can Beau be the HEA for Mallory? The book was a good read, I liked how we got both characters POV, I felt like you can learn more about them and get more story from their thoughts. Enjoy!

Roller coaster ride - dramatic and twisted

Yes, the characters were acting immature but they are only stepping into their adulthood and I loved how author captured this very moment of people so lost in their world that they made some serious mistakes. I loved how twisted and complicated it all felt. Loved the emotions the story stirred in me and that great dose of drama. Slightly unbelievable events and final outcome but this is fiction and I loved how at the end it all were quite romantic. Georgia Boys are troubled souls and heartbreakers but when they love they love fiercely and forever.

From the beginning the story starts of with a dramatic sad tale of Mallory & Beau. These two clearly have so many feelings for one another, however Beau pushed Mallory away. Then the story goes back to how these two meet and slowly work their way into a relationship and ultimately falling in love with one another. This was my first time reading a book by Chrissy Brown and her plot and character building will draw you in from beginning to end. It is a roller coaster ride with Beau and Mallory. It's a wonderful story of young love with up and downs a definite must read for any fan of Chrissy Brown!
