After losing her mother to an unexpected illness, and unable to locate a sister who is MIA, Pepper has to come to terms with being alone for the first in her life. She refuses to sit still and feel sorry for herself. Reviving her herb garden becomes her first project and she conjures a potion to help it flourish. As she performs the spell, a silver wolf stumbles into her backyard, his focus on her. Knocking the magical potion from her grasp, he shifts into a hot and very naked man.
Wes Nash never expected to scent his mate while on a run. Seeing her in the flesh, tending to her garden by moonlight, is too much for him to deny. Little does he know the witch accidentally puts a hex on him, and not just his heart. Now, everything he touches sprouts leaves and flowers. But the screwed-up version of a green thumb is the least of their worries.
Pepper discovers a secret her mother didn’t get a chance to share before she died, and now the father she thought was dead comes back with dark plans of his own.

I was lucky enough to be one of the first folks to have the opportunity to read this novella and have to say I found it to be a laugh out loud, enchanting paranormal read. The recipe for this story includes witches, witchcraft, werewolves, adventure, misadventure, brutal betrayal, death, demons, steamy scenes, mixed together with the love of a fated mate to make a delectable, fast paced and thoroughly enjoyable novella. It may be a short story but it still packs in so much, there are plenty of surprises along the way in this highly entertaining story that I have no hesitation in highly recommending. I look forward to reading more in this series in future, I can’t wait!
Many thanks to the publishers who gifted me a copy of this novel without obligation. This is my honest review.
Pepper is lonely, her mum died and she can't get hold of her sister, and her powers are unstable. So when a shifter comes into her life claiming she is her mate, it is hard to believe and open herself up to him. Although it doesn't stop her from getting her groove on :) The shifter family open her up to a family again and wanting it for herself. But something is happening to her powers and secrets of who she is and who her family is. Things aren't what they seem and Pepper is finds out who she really is.
Wes is the family of an over protective shifter family, worried why he isn't seeking out a mate. When he goes for a run away from everyone he runs straight to his mate, a witch, who has cursed him. She is his and he will have and protect her. Giving her the one thing she is craving, belonging and family.
Such a sweet and funny book. Love Wes family hahaha so in your face brilliant. I can see why Pepper is overwhelmed and wanting to be a part of it. Even though she curse Wes with a weird curse hahaha he doesn't take it out on her. Too cute
Pepper has been feeling a bit lonely since her mom passed and her sister disappeared. She's not sure how to overcome the sadness until she pulls out the family Book of Shadows and decides to work on her garden using a growing spell. Oh yeah, Pepper's a witch....unfortunately, she's not a very good one so her spells often go awry. Which is unlucky for Wes. a werewolf who's out running, trying to get away from his loving and interfering, family. When Wes, smells something intriguing to him and his wolf (could it be his mate?), he follows the scent to Pepper and sort of crashes into her right as she's casting her growth spell on her garden....and accidently hexes Wes in the process.
I really enjoyed this addition to Milly Taiden's Sassy Ever After Kindle World. It has love, laughter, magic, a little danger and some smexiness. And I loved Pepper and Wes and thought they worked well together.
This is part of the Sassy series that was originally written by Milly Taidan. A quick cute novella spin off written by Lia Davis. I very much enjoyed the characters. Pepper came off pretty timid and sad and unsure at first. I really liked when she came out of her shell later. Wes was a little abrasive with her after they initially meet and she accidentally cursed him. He doesnt always say the right things or thinks before he speaks. Typical male right? Well...he does learn and he's a great guy and a good mate for Pepper. I love how she really messed with him with her middle name haha. Pepper Shaker that was hilarious. Enjoyed the twist with her crazy father. Anyways, I loved the story and look forward to more Sassy books.
I can always count on this author taking me on a adventure with one of her worlds as she does in this one. This centers around Pepper and Wes. She has to do something for the first time that also is not easy either. We also get a grand opening on how Wes comes into the picture, where is my fan? I was given quite a story filled with humor, love and a bit of darkness that tries its way. You are given quite a story with also showing how love can overcome even a hex of a trouble. The only downfall is it is too short.
Wow I love Lia Davis books and this is another brilliant story from Lia. Pepper be lives that she's just a clumsy full blood Witch but when she accidently puts a hex on her new found mate she soon discovers the truth. Will pepper get the HEA she so desperately needs or will the darkness win read this book to find out. I loved the way Lia brings old friends into this with Aric Wolfe and the Wolfe pack makes me want to catch up with them again. 5* rating
This book is way more than you would expect. Between the laughter, the love and the danger these two characters grow from strangers into a mated pair. I love the way family is a strong influence on both of them and how what seems a catastrophe at first ends up being an unexpected boon. I really enjoyed this book and the author’s writing style. I look forward to reading more of her books
I love all the books written by this author. This was a really cute short story about a new found love between a hot sexy wolf shifter and his firey red-headed witch. The Sassy Ever books are all great reads....
This is about life choices and what you are born with. Our heroine has had tragedy hit her hard and all her life felt unbalanced. Luckily her life has been filled with love and she draws on that to get her through the bump she's faced with this time.
A real pity as this has a good plotline, interesting characters but writing delivery let it down. Bad tense, missing words and uneven flow just made this a poor read. Read through KU so only my time wasted.
Fast, interesting attraction between a wolf, Wes, and a witch, Pepper. A totally unexpected hex put on Wes at their first meeting with a surprise revelation about Pepper's heritage , added to hot love scenes make a good story. Recommended read.
An entertaining, fast paced page turner. There's lots going on and plenty to be revealed as this one unfolds. A mix of shifters plus witches and demons. Its got a great storyline with wonderful characters and a HEA.
Pepper is an earth witch. Her mother pass away a few months ago and only sister is missing in action.Wes is a wolf shifter.Pepper and Was are fated mates. By accident Pepper curse Wes with the ability to grow plants and flowers.
This is a great book; this book is part of the Sassy Ever After series and was written by Lia Davis. Pepper discovers a secret her mother didn’t get a chance to share before she died, and now the father she thought was dead comes back with dark plans of his own. This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. This book will keep you reading long into the night. If you are looking for a great book, then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this great author. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.
I am selective of the books I buy when they are based within a kindle world. A lot of times other authors just don't convey the feeling of that world. This one did. It had a great sense of humor and of family. Wes was sexy and protective while not coming across as arrogant as some writers make their alpha hero. Pepper so came into own and I liked seeing her come out of her grief. Her Dad, well, what can I say except he is not getting father of the year. Lia Davis did justice to Milly Taidens Sassy World.
This book had me hooked from the beginning.. It was sexy, action packed with a touch of humor... Pepper and Wes are an explosive couple from the start... He will protect her from everything including her own demon she just discovered... this was an incredible addition to the Sassy Ever After world...
This was a cute, sweet, short story. It can easily be read in one sitting. Pepper is a klutz, her spells usually go wrong. Wes is a wolf who is tired of his family nagging him about a mate. He runs into Pepper, yup runs into her, and knows she is his mate however funny things start happening. Hexed, his mate hexed him. I enjoyed the story of them coming together and trying to undo the hex, find out about her past, and oh yes finally get around to getting mated. There is some comedy mixed in with this one. The only negative I would say is that there could be more, it seemed like there was some stuff missing. I love the characters and hope we can see them again in the future.
Hexed With Sass by Lia Davis is book 19 of the Sassy Ever After Kindle World books. Each book is a standalone and can be read in any order. Hexed With Sass has something for everyone, there are demons, witches, shifters and half bloods. This story is full of brutal betrayal, death, witchcraft, demons, rogues, wolf shifters, curses, loss and love. It will keep you guessing. Lia's addition to the Kindle World books is a short read that you will enjoy and find yourself wishing for more. I personally hope she adds another book to the set that brings Pepper's sister Ruby back. I can just imagine where her story could take us. I received an ARC from the author. This is my honest review.
Cursing your own mate? How do you come back from that? Take one part witch part demon and try to match her with the very wolf she curses and you end up with a seriously entertaining PNR novel! This storyline flowed so remarkably well I reached the end of the book without realizing the time flying by! Perfect, perfect book escape! Another great read by Lia Davis! This voluntary review is based against an advance copy.
Quickie little novella, took just a few hours to read. It's fun, sassy and romantic. I loved Pepper and Wes. Wish there was more story and am hoping there's stories in this kindle world of Carter/Ruthanne, Rolan and we learn more of Ruby. Definitely recommend it to those that love shifter, witch, instant loving novellas.
This was a nice short read. It read like a longer book. So much information given - back story. Drama, kidnapping, a curse. Much more than you expect from a short read. I will say this was almost an instant love. Well for him it was. A wow what a first meeting they had!! Could a few more chapters given you more story yes. But I still enjoyed this read and the outcome e it gave e the two main characters.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Hexed with Sass is a sweet werewolf/witch romance. I love how the author brings Pepper to the realization that power isn’t good or evil it is how you use it that counts. I think Wes may be the most patient and understanding werewolf ever. Getting short with your siblings doesn’t count. The lesson learned here is don’t drink and do magic. Enjoy this sweet rapidly paced short from the fabulous Lia Davis.
Enjoyable short story. Filled with lots of actions, mystery, and maybe a little bit of suspense. They were some laugh out loud moments and we did get a small reference to the Wolfe family. Overall a good read looking forward to reading more in Sassy Ever After Kindle World. I volunteered to read and review this ARC I haven't been compensated in anyway.
A very quick read. Does go with the Sassy Ever After, with just a small reference to the Wolfe Family. This is really very short and to the point. includes: witches demons shifters sexy scenes
