“Share me…” ... “You mean like polyamory?”
“Polyandry actually,”... “A closed relationship, rather than open. Which is—”
“Look, I don’t know exactly what to call it,” ... “I hate labels. But yeah, whatever the term is. You’d be with all of us, and we’d be with you.” - Claudia, Colin & Hunter
I quite enjoyed Shared. There is a decent mix of physical and emotional intimacy. Though possibly not enough with more than one of the men in her bed at once. There is a reasonable plot it's not brilliant and it very cut and dry.
The men are fantastic, and different enough to be engaging. Brandon is ballsy and charming. Colin is sweet and endearing. Hunter is all kinds of hot (yes bad boys do it for me and have become the sort of character I adore reading). Hunter is a protector, an Alpha. He is key to the whole thing. Claudia is an okay protagonist. She frustrated me at times, her open lying was an issue. Her insecurities were accurate though. And Garrett, well Garrett needs a good kicking. Balls, stomach, head. I'm not picky. Honestly I kind of felt for him at the end then I remember his behaviour and had to slap myself.
My issues are ethical. Claudia is a professor (not theirs) close to their age and it is a consenting relationship. So I have no issues there, but there might be an issue there anyway, the story certainly establishes that. There is an incident towards the end which was just not right (given the sort of story we are looking at here I am overthinking I am aware). Also really needed better editing, missing letter and wrong names.
There is a fantastic discussion in Shared that is great when talking about Reverse Haram/ Polyandry about pleasure and sharing and the perception that the centre person is only giving pleasure, not receiving it. My rating is 3.5/4 stars losing rating for the previously stated issues. Shared is great if you just want a story to escape with and a nice quick read. (or a follow up to Quadruple Duty)
