New in Paper The beauty of vintage paper is at the core of the absolutely captivating projects that author Sandra Evertson calls "Posh Little Follies." She has created a unique selection of enchanting little theaters, bandboxes, ornaments, and art dolls. Best of all, Sandra makes it fun for everyone else to craft them, too. The instructions are easy to follow and the elements can be color-copied straight from the book--even the actual rare papers she used. Some of the items feature embellishments such as ribbon, while others glisten with rhinestones and beads. Among the charming a Prima Ballerina doll; Theatre La Rousse, complete with a Pierrot; Cupcake Papier Mache Box; and paper posies with fanciful faces to "plant" in pots.
There is a reason this book has "Fanciful" in the title. There is truly NOTHING practical about any of these projects, but that is what makes them so much fun.
I am in love with Evertson's work and this book is great inspiration to find my inner fanciful.
Full of lots of detailed instructions on how to create each project. As well as many pages of materials that could be photocopied and used in your project. Also a detailed list on the materials needed for each project. Very well-thought-out, and carefully planned. Lots of time and energy went into creating this book, unfortunately I only found a couple of projects that interested me. I'm just not that much into using pipe cleaners. However, I'm sure that many people would love every single project in this book! I hope Sandra Everton writes another book focusing more on decorative boxes, shoes, and theatres, as that would be absolutely wonderful!
I just really enjoyed the graphics in this book. Some were Victorian some were Deco, some were 1940's all mixed together to make fanciful objectsd'arte. And inspire you to head out on your own to create others of your own design. I buy books like this, not to make what they suggest I should make, but to inspire me to go out on my own and make something totally different! The inspiration is all in this book, and I see so much in here that I can expand upon and take a totally different path, lovin it!
What a lovely fanciful book! I'm inspired to make some of the projects in the book, with my own twists, of course. Lovely to look at and terrific projects, too.
