The Story of Beau Nash and the City of Bath during the Regency period when Bath was the place to be seen. Fascinating facts and lively characters inhabit this history that is meticulously researched, beautifully constructed and imaginatively written in Edith Sitwell's inimitable style.

Enjoyed this look at the history of bath, but think it will appeal chiefly to readers of Jane Austen and Regency romances who are interested in the background of this famous city. The author has a tendency to jump from one thing to another and back again, but the stories she told and letters she quoted were so interesting I didn't mind, much.
