As a cost for saving the young dragon girl Wiene, Bell's name has become synonymous with "greedy", "despicable", and "traitor." He and his familia have completely lost the trust and respect of everyone residing in Orario. There's no time for him to feel sorry himself when his newfound monstrous friends, the Xenos, need his help to get home. But when the greatest obstacle in their way is Loki Familia, does Bell have what it takes to raise a fist against his beloved idol, the Sword Princess Aiz Wallenstein?
Although the final fight scene is a bit overwritten, Omori once again demonstrates why this is an excellent series - the fact that Loki Familia (and everyone else) is pitted against Hestia Familia simply because Loki can't be bothered to tell her "children" the truth about the Xenos is emblematic of how people in positions of power can abuse that simply by not acting on what they know, while the aspects of blind prejudice Adventurers feel against the Xenos also has some firm real-world parallels. I don't like The Merchant of Venice, but I thought about it a lot as I was reading this book's version of "If you prick us, do we not bleed?".
done in a day, I couldn't put it down! a great close to the Xenos arc and creation/return of a true rival for Bell. while some characters were moved into the background a bit, the large cast is still making valid contributions to the story, and, in this volume especially, everyone played their part!
After the last tumultuous volume, Bell and all of Hestia familia's reputation have taken a bit of a beating. But the Xenos aren't out of trouble just yet. How can Hestia Familia help them when they're under the scrutiny of so many other familias? You'll have to read and find out. With an epic conclusion that helps those not in the know see Bell once again in that heroic light and an agreement between Bell and Aiz -- the future looks bright, indeed.
Looks, if you've read this far you know what to expect from DanMachi. Omori delivers, as usual.
A surprisingly interesting story full of twists and an unexpected ending. This volume redefined what to expect from Danmachi. Fujino Omori is a master story teller, and although I'd like to see some points better explored, I expect them to be covered in Sword Oratoria. An excellent series with a name that doesn't do it justice at all! I hope the new season of the anime covers this volume too!
Holy cow, this book was tense. I could feel the stress of trying to get the Xenos to safety. Once that part of the book was over then a huge fight with Bell happened. I just loved every minute of this book. I can't believe I finished it in 4 days. Yesterday I was really into the book and couldn't wait to read more.
If you’ve come this far you don’t need anyone to tell you to carry on reading - but I’ll tell you just in case you need a little push, just like a certain white haired rabbit. This one might be my favourite since Bell’s battle with the Minotaur. His evolution into what he dreams of keeps my coming back and I’m very excited to see where it goes!
It took too much setup, but this is why people read this series.
It took too much setup, but this is why people read this series. The big twist, and the ensuing ending was another example of why people keep reading this series. If you enjoyed everything before this arc, this book will be a nice payoff did what started in Book 9.
The conclusion the to Xeno arc. It ends well and with conclusive, which I like. Ready for the next arc. This one was fine, but probably my least favorite so far our of the previous arcs. The novel itself didn't seem to have as much fun slice of life stuff, but it had good Bell/Aiz moments.
Concluding the Xenos arc, we can feel that the author took longer than he expected and wanted it to end. A good read with good fights, but the conclusion is a bit unsatisfactory. Well, Bell is probably the most unsatisfied of all.
Wow what a way to end an arc. Normally i am quite good at predicting the plottwist but they really got me this time. The underlying themes are so well done I couldn't put it down! I am excited to see what comes next.
Idk how I felt about this story arc...In one way I enjoyed it and in another i didn't....liked that it concluded this arc in a nice way but it left me wanting more
This volume completes the Xenos story arc, and redefines relationships between some of the characters. I look forward to the next volume, and seeing how the new relationships play out.
I like how this book and series builds the characters. Each character feels real which I think a lot of fantasy books are missing! A fantasy series needs rich characters and a rich environment which I think this series and latest book does well!
This series gets better in each volume. This volume was action packed, all characters brought something to the story in a nice way. Well narrated and with great descriptions.
