Standing over six feet tall, USA Today bestselling author Jonathan Moeller has the piercing blue eyes of a Conan of Cimmeria, the bronze-colored hair of a Visigothic warrior-king, and the stern visage of a captain of men, none of which are useful in his career as a computer repairman, alas.

He has written the DEMONSOULED series of sword-and-sorcery novels, and continues to write THE GHOSTS sequence about assassin and spy Caina Amalas, the COMPUTER BEGINNER'S GUIDE series of computer books, and numerous other works. His books have sold over one million copies worldwide.

This wasn’t a bad story but the number of irritations in these books are beginning to mount, at least Simon Lorre didn’t turn up!

I can’t remember the number of times the author has pointed out how paranoid Jack can be about his safety;

”For an Alpha Operative of the Silent Order, paranoia was a way of life.”

But this didn’t seem to happen in this book as Jack was completely taken in when there were so many signs who the saboteur was.

Then there were the battles with the Macrobes, which became a bit monotonous and some of the incidents didn’t feel right

If possible I would have given 2.5 stars.

SO #4

Captain Jack March is heading home after the events of book three and flies right into the middle of a different Silent Order operation that has been sabotaged and on the brink of becoming a Machinist victory. Fortunately, his arrival turns the tide back in the Silent Order’s favor but time and macrobes are against him and he must deliver his precious cargo home safely.

It was neat to experience the grandeur of a space faring equivalent of a cruise ship while simultaneously horrifying to witness the devastation wrought by true monsters of this universe. I know it’s his character but his excuse of not wanting distractions interfering with the mission to hide his phobia about women seeing his scars is frustrating. Otherwise, Captain Jack Bond of the Tiger would be the 007 of the SO.

Here’s my take

The books are pretty entertaining. The story line is rather unique. I guess the main thing that bugs me is that the books are set in an era where Earth is described as “ primeval “ Earth, apparently 100,000 yrs in the future, but the technology is really underwhelming. They have electric, automated ground vehicles, we have that now. They have Pulse pistols and rifles, but really, they’re using .45 caliber automatics 100 thousand years from now? Gimme a break. All in all a good read but the technology could and should be quite a bit more advanced.

Twists and turns galore

The plot twists and turns make for a great read. The Eclipse works as a counterpoint to the technology being used for evil. Like most technologically advanced inventions, it can be used for good or evil, it all depends on the intent of the human in control

This series is very enjoyable to read. Sometimes when writing these reviews I say too much and then other times to little. This is just a great Series. Nothing more to say, other than: the characters are strong and the story is a page turner. Great Reading Everyone!

Yet again

Another book in an entertaining series about Capt Jack Marsh, Eclipse Hand has some interesting but horrible turns and can it be a love interest? Well worth an afternoons reading time!
