Technically I didn’t finish this book, I mean it’s intended to be read over a whole year, and I couldn’t wait that long to write this review.

I’ve needed this book for years. I love to doodle, but I never felt good about my drawings. This book delightfully gave me somewhere to start.

Where did I start? Today.
What did I draw? Today’s instructions.
What else do I draw? Anything else in the book!

The instructions are wonderful simple, super helpful for someone like me. The illustrations are drawn in the same style that is being taught, so even the illustrations keep teaching how to draw.

It also encourages you to learn how draw things not from the book. The concepts of seeing things by their simplest parts and transferring it to the page is quite helpful for a newbie such as myself.

Such a good book. 10/10. Five stars. Two enthusiastic thumbs up.

Consigliatissimo!

I enjoyed how the author broke down each thing to be drawn into simple lines, and I found it fun to draw a long with the day's lesson. The items to draw were somewhat random for me. They were based on what the author had been doing, but I didn't have those same connections. I also found that the not-drawing of "almost every day" kept falling on days when I wanted to draw. Overall, this was an enjoyable quick (mostly) daily activity.

What a fun project and idea book! Easy to read and follow directions for each themed drawing. Additional information on style, project ideas, and colors are a welcome supplement. The general style of all the projects were the same however; more variation or increase in difficulty as the book progressed would be ideal.

As someone who wishes to improve her drawing skills, this book was a friendly company during the year. It has beautiful drawings, is full of stories and cuteness. Lovely.
