I love writing and illustrating stories for kids!

Stories are fun, but it’s more than that...each book a child reads is a doorway into understanding more about herself and more about the world she lives in.

I want to create those doorways—to laughter,  to learning, to imagined worlds, and most importantly... to connecting with each other.

With two new grand babe's on the way, I've taken to collecting children's books. I loved reading to my children when they were young. My mother read to my brother and I and picking out a bedtime story was often the highlight of my day. My mother was a fantastic storyteller. She always did character voices and was very animated. I have never forgotten those memorable stories and it makes my heart all warm and fuzzy to think of my brother and I snuggled up next to Mom as she read The Tale of Two Bad Mice by Beatrix Potter, one of my favorites. (By the way, I have the complete boxed set of Beatrix Potter books and I treasure them.) I want my grandchildren to remember me like that and I want to share the joy of reading and open up a whole new world for them to imagine.

Coincidentally, Kerry McQuaide happened to contact me about her Midge & Moo series not long after I found about the babies. I happily agreed to read the first book in the series and I must say it's a delight. When it comes to younger children, I'd say from baby to five years, one needs a quick and colorful story to introduce to the child's small attention span. The Midge & Moo books are absolutely perfect for this age group. The pages are bright and colorful and the short story is told in a sing-song, rhyming way that will entertain little ones. It also introduces friendship and game play in a clever way. The illustrations are charming.

Midge & Moo are best friends but Moo is missing. Children will delight in turning each page, wondering where Moo may be. Most kids enjoy peek-a-boo around the age this book is geared towards and I do believe children will have fun with the hide-and-seek theme. A very cute book for small children. This is the fourth book in the Midge & Moo series and I can't wait to share each story with my new wee ones. Five books complete the series by McQuaide.

**Special thanks to Kerry McQuaide for reaching out and sharing her lovely, sweet books with me.

“Moo is missing: a peek-a-boo book” is book 4 of “The Adventures of Midge and Moo” series. The story will captivate your small child. The stylized colored illustrations are well done and quite appealing. The text compliments each picture beautifully.

This is a very sweet and fun book. Your small child will love it.

Midge and her black-and-white cow named Moo are best friends. They came home from the hospital together when Midge was two days old. They are always together, but right now, Moo is missing.

Midge wants to find Moo. Moo is somewhere in the house. Your child can help Midge find Moo.

Midge looks behind the table and finds her daddy’s shoe. She looks behind the clock but finds only a black and white sock. Midge looks behind a stuffed chair and behind the curtains, but Moo is not there. Then she finally finds Moo. He looks like he is looking for your child whom you are reading to. Midge picks up Moo and gives him a happy smile. Your child will smile, too.

Note: Kerry McQuaide has both written and illustrated the books in this series. This is a delightful series for very young children.
Each book of this series can stand alone and be enjoyed by itself, but it is fun to read the whole series to your child.

Midge discovers Moo is missing. Where could he be? She begins her search and finds many interesting things along the way, but no Moo. Moo is Midge's best friend. She has to find him. Let's join Midge in her search and see if we can't find Moo.

Ms. McQuaide has a fantastic way of including your child in each book. It gives your child's imagination a chance to really take off. Simple and easy stories just the right length for nap or bedtimes stories. Your child will grow to love Midge and Moo. Soon your child will be reading this book to you.

I found no issues.

I gave this one 5 cheers out of 5 because it really makes your child feel like part of the book.

A quick short peekaboo adventure, Moo goes missing invites small children to inspect each picture and guess if Moo is hiding there. Nice detail makes this story fun, and its brevity ensures small readers will never be alarmed by the absence of a beloved toy. The bright illustrations continue the theme of Midge and Moo and make this a nice addition to the series. After all, even small kids love to have something to collect.
