If you want answers this book has them. The answers may not be the ones you wanted, but they are still interesting reading. I did have a slight problem and that was there were a couple of editing errors by this I mean there words that were misspelled. But this was no big deal if you pay attention you will autocorrect as you read, but still I get taken to task for my spelling errors so should the authors of this book. Did I like this book? Yes. Did it fill a void in my knowledge base? Yes. Would I recommend this book to others? Yes. I mean it was fun and I learned some new things.

I love knowing things. It may sound like a really random statement to make but I genuinely do like learning new things or finding out the most random factoids. This is essentially why I chose to request Do Geese Get Goose Bumps? & 199 More Perplexing Questions with Astounding Answers by The Bathroom Readers’ Institute from NetGalley. It sounded like a book that would satiate my curiosity.

And it did.

The level of things I learned from reading Do Geese Get Goose Bumps? & 199 More Perplexing Questions with Astounding Answers is incomparable. I loved it because it didn’t just tell me facts (like some other books of this ilk that I have previously read) but it told me the root of where the information came from. I felt like a sponge picking up new and interesting things. I loved it.

Do Geese Get Goose Bumps? & 199 More Perplexing Questions with Astounding Answers by The Bathroom Readers’ Institute is definitely a book for all you fact lovers out there. Plus it is a quick and easy read. If you have a short commute to work you could read one or two of the stories before you begin your shift…or like me you could consume it in one sitting and have an information overload.

Either way, Do Geese Get Goose Bumps? & 199 More Perplexing Questions with Astounding Answers by The Bathroom Readers’ Institute is a brilliant book.

This book has 199 questions and answers to some of the things you have probably wondered about. And it was interesting to read about the stuff I hadn't wondered about too.

I like these books because the information is bite-size, informative and great when you want to know something about something but you don't want to know too many details. They cover things about around the house, geography, history, wild animals, domesticated animals, fashion, government, technology, myths & legends, science, food & drink, sports, at work business, entertainment, language and the human condition.

A couple of things I found especially interesting was how Columbia record club worked (yes, I had enrolled in their CD and DVD plans years ago) and whether TV courtroom shows (like Judge Judy) are legally binding.

FAV QUOTES/SECTIONS:

Q: What’s the difference between an underarm deodorant and an antiperspirant?
A: To answer that question, we first must ask why armpits smell so bad in the first place. The answer: bacteria poop...

Q: Why don’t woodpeckers get headaches?
A: If you tried slamming your face against a maple tree 20 times per second with the same force that a woodpecker uses, you probably wouldn’t survive the attempt...

Q: How many bees does it take to make enough honey to fill one cup?

Q: How come some animals can be domesticated, and some can’t? A: ...Domestication works only if the humans are in charge. Solitary animals like grizzly bears don’t go for that. And as far as cats are concerned, it’s possible that they domesticated us.

Q: How many cups of coffee would you have to drink in order to kill yourself?

Despite the rhetorical questions cribbed from stand-up routines, there are more than enough questions and answers in this book to satisfy the regular trivia fan. While it must surely struggle to become a franchise in its own right, with so many similar books out there (the Guardian's Notes and Queries series, and those from the New Scientist magazine, among many others), it's a decent one-off, and perfect for the toilet browse. Very America-centric, however – ''rugby looks like football'', my arse, and there's a real story to be had in the EEther/EIther pronunciation battle, not the dross we get here.

Thank you The Bathroom Readers Institute and NetGalley for this fun, quick read. I've long loved the Bathroom Readers, so I was happy to see this new title. I was lucky enough to be on a vacation during my read of this book, and many times I found myself reading it out loud to my family.
The questions are fun, but interesting and informative.

I enjoy trivia books. They are one of my favorite ways to unwind from reading serious books. This one was pretty good. Some I did not know (ghost one got me) Some where common sense (why baseball players wear baseball hats). If you like trivia books and/or learning new fun facts this book is for you.

A fun fast read, that have given me even more facts to amuse, entertain and bore my friends with!
I love these sort of books and have read most of the New Scientist ones. This book did not disappoint with well researched information and a certain level of humour in the presentation. I know what some family members are getting for Christmas!

I received this ebook in exchange for an honest review;

This is a wonderful book. It has answers on every 'stupid' question you asked yourself before. For example what was the original meaning of parkway and drive. The questions are in a lot of different themes.
