فکر میکنم اگر چند سال پیش با این کتاب پایتون را شروع میکردم، قطعا از برنامه‌نویسی متنفر میشدم :))

Recommend! I read this to see if it was a suitable introduction to Python and coding for a middle schooler. I'm a fan of Python as a beginner language, and this guide is well suited to kids 11-15 years (or kids who operate at that level). I haven't coded Python in a long time and I found it an entertaining refresher!

I would particularly recommend it for that age level because it does teach Python and coding from a programmer point of view, and requires what I would guess is a 5th grade reading level. The programs created are interesting and often game based, so a middle schooler will enjoy it, but it might be too wordy and not have enough immediate gratification for a younger child. If you have a young child interested in coding - Scratch is an excellent, free, online platform that introduces "real" coding with a more colorful, drag and drop approach.

The edition I read was a few years old so I did encounter a few things (e.g., the current version of Python has some minor syntax differences). This is typical of programming guides over a year old, and it will not cause issues with the overall usability of the book. The authors acknowledge the fact that computer languages and platforms are constantly evolving, and advise readers how to stay on top of those changes.

Excellent book. Need to get a personal copy to use in my 8th grade classroom teaching Python. Each time I signed it out of the library, it was put on 'hold' and I had to return it before I wanted to.
