Missing Inheritance is a murder mystery novel I couldn't put this book down. I read the entire book in one evening. Fantastic. So many twists and turns that you couldn't turn the pages fast enough. Every page led you to some kind of mystery, suspense or a little romance. As you read and turn the pages, you think you have it figured out and the next page lets you know that you don't have a clue. I loved the added history about the paintings. Quite interesting. What would you do if out of the blue, your lawyer says you have inherited a billion Russian rubles? The ending is a real grabber. You have no idea. Pick up a copy of MISSING INHERITANCE and follow Shawna and JT as they try to unravel this mystery and find the stolen artwork. The author did a wonderful job of keeping the reader's attention. The book is well written in a fast pace. The reader can relate to the characters. They are realistic.
I received a complimentary copy of MISSING INHERITANCE from the author, Ken Herring in exchange for my unbiased review. No other compensation took place.
I was given a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.
The plot was very intriguing and kept my attention for most of the story. There were many different paths the story took that was completely unexpected and surprising. That in itself, will keep a reader's attention.
The writing needs improvement. The story telling was straight to the point with no creativity or detailed descriptions. There was a lot of "JT did this... JT did that... then JT went there". I thought there could have been better, more smooth transitions. Parts of the story were slow because of this straight forward writing. It did not give me a suspenseful feeling; the events themselves were suspenseful but the time between the events did not add any depth to the overall story. I wanted more details on the scenes, the environment the characters were in and more descriptive physical traits of the characters. There could have been physical descriptions of the characters with interactions to show more personality and emotions. Some parts of the story were predictable and some decisions by the characters were very questionable.
Overall, I would recommend this book if you're interested in a mystery. I would like to thank Mr. Herring for sharing his work with me.
I received this book free from the author in exchange for a fair review.
Henry Lockie, is an older man who is killed at the beginning of the story but he's present throughout the book as we find out about his son JT as he works through his father's estate. JT is also dealing with an important client presentation at the ad agency he works at. He is working with a new female co-worker, Shawna who he is very attracted to.
I enjoyed learning about JT's inheritance and how Henry acquired the money and items. I wanted to know about Henry, his story was what was really interesting and what made the book. I was not fond of the relationship between JT & Shawna or how Shawna was tied into the story (seemed a bit contrived) I also thought the romance was a bit juvenile. This was enough to make me give this a 4 rather than 5 star.
This book is exciting and suspenseful all the way up to the end. I liked it because it is a different storyline than I have read lately. It deals with the stolen artwork by the Nazi's in WWII. People are after some of the artwork and they are serious about getting it back. Can J.T. and Shawna stay one step ahead of them? And there are people going after those people. There is a lot of history mixed in with this fictional story. Or is it?
