You are struggling with what to write. You have difficulties in getting the ideas out of your head onto the page. You are frustrated with the time you spend sitting in front of your computer screen with a blank space in front of you and a seemingly blank space between the ears. Not any more if you follow the suggestions in the Good and Geeky Writers Workflow.
Now we have great technology in the form of hardware and software and we can use it to stimulate the brain cells into being creative. The Good and Geeky creative writing workflow is flexible and easy to use and I want to share it with other writers. With the Workflow based around both desktop and mobile hardware and software it is easy to liberate your ideas. Once you get into this way of working the books, short stories, articles, blog posts and dissertations will almost write themselves.
The process is set out as four simple to follow steps that get out of your way. A process to help you think only about what you're writing. No worries about how to join the dots together with the flow of the process. The Good and Geeky Writers Workflow has it all worked out for you. While it is specific in the suggested form of the flow it is also customisable so that you can jump in and out of it as needed.
It works for writing non fiction and can also be used for fiction. Good for anything you want to write or you have to write, to satisfy your studies or your creative urges. Write more, write better, with more depth by being good and geeky using technology the right way.
If you are working on a short piece then you can use the shortened version of the workflow. For a novel you will want to use the full length process to make sure you squeeze every last idea out of your head onto the page. Whichever you way you want to use the Writers workflow you will allow your creativity to take charge and produce your best work.
For writers, authors, students and bloggers ready to embrace technology and be creative in a Good and Geeky way.
The book includes links to show you how to use speech to text software DragonDictate to write faster. There are four video tutorials exclusive to readers of this book showing how to use the mind mapping software. How to move the data from stage of the writers workflow to the next.
Always been a reader and a writer. I love technical stuff, hence the books about the tech I like to use. Compared to when I was a kid it seems like I'm living in the future already. When I wanted to make a phone call I would have to leave the house and walk 100 metres to the nearest public phone box. Makes me feel old just thinking about that.
Now we have devices in our pockets to do amazing stuff with. The technology keeps getting getter too.
I've started to write fiction and the first story is a zombie apocalypse tale. The first draft is rubbish as it should be and I'm hoping I can improve it enough with the editing process to feel like I can publish it. The second story is based in Budapest and is going in the right direction and has a long way to go yet.
I received a copy of this ebook for review. I love Scrivener, and Wizardgold has built his Writer Workflow around Scrivener, adding in his thoughts on programs for mind mapping and outlining as well. He runs through several options, and out to get the information out of those programs and into Scrivener. Windows is not covered, only OSX and iOS. There is some good suggestions and questions to ponder when you are setting up your own workflow. This is not an in-depth guide, or tips and tricks type of book, but a solid base for those who are trying to manage the process from initial ideas to final/edited copy.
