I AM AN ESCORT.

I screw men and get screwed for money,
living my life everyday as Jericho Lane.
My clientele list is immaculate.
I am sought out, demanded
and damn good at my job.
I don’t care that these men have families at home,
or that they are important people.
I do it for the money.
to survive.

There is nothing that could make me
feel a bit of remorse or
concern about what I do because
I was born with the inability
to experience or feel emotions...

I don’t feel PAIN
I don’t feel SORROW.
I don’t feel extreme HAPPINESS or LOVE

I am VOID.

A blank canvas of emotions.
An empty hole in an endless sea of
circumstances, moods and relationships.

Until one client changes EVERYTHING.

Cassy Roop delivers everything you'd want in this standalone erotic romance.

Though I love the title, VOID is anything but!

It's filled, from the first page to the last, with intrigue, suspense, and incredibly compelling characters. From the very beginning I had to wonder if all was as it seemed. I love twists and turns and VOID has enough of those to qualify as a roller coaster.

I absolutely fell in love with Nicola! It is so refreshing to experience her emotions as she does for the first time. The men in this book also grow on you! They are sexy and compelling as well as loving and caring. Be warned, this isn't a story about candy canes and unicorns. The subject matter is dark, and done exceptionally well. Though it took me to the edge, I never felt outside my comfort zone.

Another warning: when you begin VOID, be prepared to not stop reading until you're finished. I know that I couldn't. I tried, but kept saying, "just one more chapter." Needless to say, I wasn't able to stop and once I finished that last page, I was certainly glad I didn't.

If you like suspense, hot sex, alpha men, a strong heroine, and a compelling story, VOID is for you!!!

This is one of those books that had me wanting to sneak a peek at the end just so I didn't have to wait to find out. I literally could not read this fast enough.

It's sensual, suspenseful and the writing is really engaging. I can't say much because it will give things away, you just need to dive in. Look past the initial impressions of the main characters and just read, it's so worth it.

2.5-3

I'll give this props for trying. But for me, it fell way way short of what it could have been. And it has so much potential too! I'm a bit frustrated, to be honest. I really wanted to like this. I do, to a point. I like the concept. I like the basic plot. But it got so mucked up in the middle for me. You'll see what I mean...

I had quite a few issues with this book over all. First and foremost being editing. It needs it.

My next biggest gripe is the inattention to detail from the author. Many of you know me, and you know how I'm a nitpicker. And individually, a lot of what I made notes on during reading this book would be considered nit-pick things that in the end I'd normally wave away somewhat. But I noticed a trend with my nit-picking. They were almost all based in the author not paying attention to what she's already written. (This is where good beta readers need to be utilized! They are your FIRST line of defense when writing) Anyway- I'll just list a few things.

- An shopping spree on Fifth Avenue including purchase of a lingerie set at Agent Provocateur. This outfit was obviously researched, as you can find it on the AP website (it's quite gorgeous actually!) Nikola also purchases a few other things from other stores. But then the author hits us with "Several hours and a few HUNDRED dollars later." Details. The lingerie from AP was close to a grand by themselves.

-I'm only listing one example of the next, but same concept of not paying attention. Nikola tells us she's "fearful of being without money." Now we know she understands and can recognize emotions in others (to a point) but so far can only recognize passion in herself (so we've been told) So the careless use of feelings words is inappropriate for this story, at this point in the book. It's almost as if the author was on autopilot. Which is cool, I get it, but we still need to be mindful. (There are a couple of other examples before this point in the book, I didn't mention them, I was originally going to brush them off.)

-There's a point when Nikola tells us she hears the sound of lace ripping. Yet she's got the noise canceling headphones on. Hmmm...

- She can't tell if Link has a beard or is clean shaven while she's blindfolded. This confuses me big time. It's been my experience that it's quite quite obvious if there's a beard or not. Just saying. Plus she's a professional escort. She hasn't figured out how to tell these things by now?

-Breasts bouncing while she's strapped chest down to a table.

- Masala.... OMG this is completely a proofreading/editing/lack of research mistake. But it drives me up the wall. As the author describes the first date scene we are told Andris is cooking chicken masala. But as the descriptions of what he's doing (adding wine for example) it becomes obvious that Andris is cooking chicken MARSALA. The classic Italian dish made with MARSALA wine. The author repeatedly uses "chicken masala" which is a completely different thing. Masala is a blend of Indian spices. (This one is entirely me and my nit-picking but still relates back to attention to detail.)

I'm just going to stop there. I have more, but I think you get the general idea. We are in major, desperate need of beta reading (which doesn't mean you have your BFF read it and blow smoke up your ass about how wonderful it is) and editing. As 90% of what I had issue with SHOULD have been resolved during those processes. HAD those issues been resolved, or even MOSTLY resolved, this could have easily been a full 4 star review from me.

Feel free to contact me privately, Cassy, if you'd like to discuss. I beta read for several successful authors. I'd be happy to assist you in the future!

Hot! Intriguing! Suspenseful! Sensual! Erotic! Engaging! This character-driven book is full of everything! I loved every page of this book, and what made me fall in love was C. Roop’s fantastic writing, which led me to form bonds and fall in love right along with Nicola and Andris.

Nicola is a beautiful young woman who has Alexithymia. This is a dysfunction in emotional awareness, social attachment and interpersonal relating. It means that she isn’t able to identify or describe most of the feelings that people experience, such as emotional pain, remorse, love. She cannot process most of emotions, like anger, sadness or caring, and what can only treat her condition is a trigger, something that will “shock her and set off a chain reaction within her. “ Dr. Robert Gunn is the psychiatrist who diagnosed this personality trait when she was five and has tried to help her since then.

 photo tumblr_nfgm0xoMws1seggnio1_500_zpse2uzjfsr.gif

After the loss of her parents in a plane crash when she was still very young (14 years old) and fragile, a dramatic event in her life which even that could not trigger some sort of reaction out of her, not even crying, she was left completely alone. She was removed from her expensive school, since she had not the financial means to cover the tuition fees, she was left all alone and poor, as there were no relatives or friends to support her and help her and she stopped attending her sessions with her doctor. Eventually, she became an escort because the only thing that seemed to mend her damaged soul somehow was pleasure via sexual intercourse. She visited again her therapist in the span of nearly 24 years, when by the end of this 24th year, she finally finds what her trigger is!

“What is the one thing I do experience? Pleasure. Having sex is the only time that my mind and my body get to truly…feel. I guess you could say that is the reason behind my chosen profession. Having sex with men gives me a sense of tipping the hat as normalcy.”

Dr. Andris S. Gunn is the psychiatrist to whom ‘Gunn and Associates’ clinic will soon be signed over after his uncle’s (Robert Gunn) retirement. He is the one who takes over Nicola’s treatment and is responsible for her mental healing. He is a young, sexy as hell, caring, and ethical doctor who has to face Cardinelli family’s illegal involvement in the clinic and is determined to get away from.

Nicola finally finds her trigger on her kinky client, Link, who keeps his identity in secrecy by blindfolding her and leading her to sexual pleasures with the verbal guidance of a mysterious, handsome man. Link offers Nicola a huge amount of money for her exclusive services for the following 12 weeks, and she accepts. When she firstly meets her new therapist, Andris, one week before he takes over the clinic, she recognizes on Andris the mysterious man who has been leading her to ecstasy without even touching her!! Nicola starts experiencing feelings for the first time, such as caring, fear, jealousy, anger, love, both for Andris and Link, and she tries to discover this new reality with Andris’ help both as Link’s assistant and as her therapist.

"…the second I am with you and Link, it’s like someone has taken a huge amount of beautiful colors and splattered them all over my blank canvas. Instantly it comes to life – I come to life. I feel human, normal for once in my life."
 photo tumblr_movf4t2E7O1ss7ztco1_1280_zps87789e2f.jpg
"Andris is my light. Link is the flame behind the light…Not only do I feel torn between two men who make me come to life in many different ways, I am also in the predicament that I have to protect both of them…How is it that I have come to the point in my life where two people are completely detrimental to my survival?"

The climax of this erotic thriller is reached when masks fall, Link reveals his true identity, Andris expresses his love to Nicola under the shadow of the 12-week contract, while Cardinelli family is threatening Andris’ morality as a psychiatrist and the standing and integrity of the clinic.

I have no doubt this book is going to be a hit, it certainly was with me!! This is a sensual, captivating, powerful romantic story that it is sure to please readers and leave them breathless.

alessitimia
/a·les·si·ti·mì·a/

            sostantivo femminile

SDRAIATI.
LASCIATI LEGARE.
SENTI.

"They say love can move mountains.
That it can power through all things.
It is one of the strongest feelings in the world.
It can help you overcome obstacles and it can heal.
Love saved me from out of a darkness no one should ever have to experience.
Love helped Andris overcome his own demons.
Love brought us together. Even though I still had a hard time processing and understanding certain feelings (...) I was no longer VOID."

5 STAR REVIEW

"Have you ever wanted something so bad, that you felt almost desperate to have it?"

VOID by Cassy Roop is an amazing suspenseful read. It is full of twists and turns! The book is full of feelings and the questioning of lack of feelings. You have two people, Andris and Jericho/Nicola, who are far from perfect. Both in their own ways damaged from their pasts. Jericho/Nicola is an escort and Andris is .... SURPRISE! her psychiatrist. That’s not going to get messy, is it?

"For the first time in my life, I was feeling feelings. I was experiencing normal emotions that I had never felt before until this point and it was all due to two different men. One, my doctor and person who was paid to help me try to get past all the vacant crap inside of me, and the other one who paid me to get past the bad crap that seemed to be inside of him."

I could not put this book down. I needed to know what was going to happen. Every time I thought I had it figured out...something else happened and I had to keep turning the page. The sex scenes were SCORCHING hot so that was a plus! This story was phenomenal. I can not say enough about how unusual and unique and just how wonderful it was. I love a story that keeps my interest and makes me care about the characters and Cassy Roop was definitely able to nail it with VOID.

3.5 WTF stars for me I can't quite say it's a 4
That was possibly one of the strangest books I've ever read!
I had to finish it to find out what was going on - but honestly the first third was the best.

From there on in it was a bit of a mess. Weird and strange - it wasn't believable for me, sorry.
Her Alexithymia didn't come across strongly - it was somewhat hit and miss considering the amount of emotion and feelings that she was having/showing.

Probably about 25% too long, lots of padding...

Believe it or not, from that blurb I was hoping for something along the lines of Pretty Woman!

“Have you ever wanted something so bad that you felt almost desperate to have it? Imagine one of those things you want was your own feelings. Your own emotions, but no matter how hard you try, you can’t turn them on. You can’t cause a stir within yourself to flip the switch that turns everything on. You get to watch others around you feel love, passion, excitement, and even pain, yet all you feel is nothing”
[3.50 - 4]

"What is the one thing I do experience? Pleasure. Having sex is the only time that my mind and my body get to truly… feel. I guess you could say that is the reason behind my chosen profession. Having sex with men gives me a sense of tipping the hat as normalcy. Having someone buried deep within the walls of me is the only occurrence in wich I don't feel like a stagnant, vacant person."

"For the first time in my life, I was feeling feelings. I was experiencing normal emotions that I had never felt before until this point and it was all due to two different men."
Me entretuvo.

What would life be like without the ability to feel anything but pleasure? No emotions. No pain. Nothing but physical arousal. In some ways, the inability to overthink, over analyze, and feel consumed by the plethora of positive and negative emotions seems like a fantastic way to escape the inconsistencies of life, but it also seems to be an empty way to go through life.

Conversely, what if life was nothing but sensations, consuming thoughts that wreaked havoc on a daily basis threatening to upend one’s well put together façade and destroy everything that has been gained through hard work and fortitude.

Voided and Filled – these implicitly describe Nicola Forbes aka Jethro Lane and Andris Gunn aka Sinclaire, the main characters of Cassy Roop’s newest release, Void, and although, on the surface, they seem to be the antithesis of each other, the more time they spend together and give into their feelings for one another, the easier it is to see that they are the catalyst for gaining and freeing the emotions that both fight to handle on a daily basis.

But when secrets, lies, and devastating truths are revealed, who will be left standing – the one who feels nothing or the one who feels everything?

Void is another great story from Cassy Roop. It has everything that I’ve come to expect from Roop after reading her Celtic Knot series – a suspenseful story line that keeps readers interest and keeps them guessing from the onset; characters who are multifaceted in their demeanors and actions, and steamy scenes that allow readers to understand the characters’ carnal connection as well as the underlying feelings waiting to be embraced.

There is a lot at stake for both Nicola and Andris as their story plays out and what they gain and/or lose due to their voided and filled lives is a journey that readers don’t want to miss.

A complimentary copy was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

This is one of those books that suck you in right from the start. Wow.
Nicola is a young beautiful woman with Alexithymia. It is a condition that prevents people from actually feeling emotions.
Nicola is empty. She feels no fear, anger, love or pain. Growing up, she becomes a highly paid escort. She manages to fight her condition through pleasure and that is where she meets Sinclaire. Sinclaire is working for a rich client that wants to spend several nights with her. His name is Link...or rather, that is what he calls himself. Their encounters are veiled in secrecy and anonymity.
Nicola is drawn to him and the pleasure he gives her, but she is also drawn to Sinclaire who guides her through her meetings with Link.
Dr. Andris Gunn is a doctor and Nicola decides to resume her sessions after his uncle hands him over the clinic. She is shocked when she discovers who he really is.
Lives get intertwined, lies are told, emotions blossom and secrets are revealed as all our characters come together in this tale of deceit and passion.
I simply loved the writing, the plot and the characters. Andris is one of my favorite book-boyfriends, I swear!
5 Stars!!! Don't miss this one.

4.5 ADDICTIVE STARS!!!!!

I loooved this book!!! I was so engulfed in Jericho/Nicola's story. Like her I found myself drawn to both men. I kept playing a million scenarios in my head as to what their secrets were. I was shocked when at the end the truth was revealed. Like Nicola I was blown away by it and understand why she did what she did because it was a heavy blow to take.

This had suspense, romance, and some so so sweet moments in it. I was drawn in from the first page bc I loved how different and unique this story was. I found myself telling anyone and everyone who'd listen to READ THIS BOOK!!!!

The sex in this book with both men was OFF THE CHARTS!! If you love a mix of angst, mystery, suspense and and hot as all hell sex then this is a must read for you!!!!

This is a case of a really interesting concept, just not executed very well.

The story had me interested from the start. It was unique, and sets up a mystery right away... The suspense kept me reading. Also, I did like the premise. I didn't think the writing was fantastic... And there was all of this other stuff going on that I thought was over the top and unrealistic. If the author had stuck to the central storyline I think it would have been more compelling... But adding all the extra plot just made it convoluted and melodramatic... I found myself skimming through most of it to get to the main story... And even that was a bit cheesy for my liking. Again though, I did like the main storyline, and thought it was a really interesting concept. But overall a disappointment for me.

This was a really great erotic standalone.

After reading this authors other books I had a feeling Id need to sit for a few hours and read this in one sitting. I wasn't wrong as this was a gripping unputdownable read. I'm not gonna say much about the story as I don't wanna spoil it. What I will say is this is a well written story with some great strong characters. Twists & turns, suspense and hot sexy scenes this book has it all.

If your looking for a brilliant erotic romance with a unique storyline then I highly recommend this book. I loved it.

Void: adjective: completely empty

For Nicola/Jericho that is exactly what she is Void. Void of all emotional feelings. Being neglected as a young child and never feeling any sort of emotions from her parents Nicola grew up void, empty. Never understanding or experiencing feelings of loneliness, happiness, sadness, love, joy, excitement, nothing. Growing up she decided the one feeling she could give herself and get from others is pleasure. She used that and became a professional escort because it was the one feeling she could actually experience so she embraced that held onto that for dear life.

All it took was 1 client to awaken emotions in her that she has never experienced to turn her life upside down. When other emotions started coming into play she started to find herself experiencing not only feelings from 1 man but 2. Granted those 2 men were very close one another. They were her trigger, her answer to finally living a normal life. But how is she supposed to adjust when everything is foreign? How is she supposed to pick between the 2 when the feelings that pull from her are strong yet different in so many ways? When secrets are revealed she has 2 choices. She can either embrace them and decide that it is time to pick or she can decide to leave both and put herself back in the darkness she is used to and become Void.

This is my first Cassy Roop read and I really enjoyed this book. It was different from a lot of the other novels I have read but also gave me the elements of a romance that I have to have. Not only did it have hot and passionate scenes it also gave me my little bit of naughtiness that I crave. There was drama and mystery. Betrayals and promises broken. I noticed at the end of the story there was never a dull moment. From the very beginning until almost the very end my head felt like it was in a whirlwind because I was playing the guessing game on what the hell is going on? But not in a bad way – the way Cassy wrote this story it had me guessing until almost the very end.

When the truth came out and the light bulb came on, I was holding my breath waiting to see what Nicola would do. Would she pick Andris whom you could see an instant connection with? The bright and brilliant doctor who is a bit shy but lovable? Or would she pick Link the mysterious client whom Nicola has never laid her eyes on and has never heard his voice but can manipulate her body into pure ecstasy? Or would she decide that the betrayal and lies be too much and walk away from it all?
Not only did Cassy give us a story about finding life again but also she gave us a curveball and threw in a crazy man in the picture that wanted Nicola and would use blackmail to get her. Not want her as in love happily ever after but want her services, her body, a warm place to put his…… well you know the rest.

So would I recommend this book to someone who is looking for something erotic but different? Yes! Would I recommend this book to someone who likes to read books that make you question what is going on but in the end everything falls into place? Yes! But more importantly would I read more from this author in the future? Absofreakinglutely!

Great job Cassy! Sexy and sensual all in one. Great read.

I was lucky enough to beta read this book and I loved every bit of it!

"I guess we both have secrets, don't we?"

A-Freakin-Mazing!!! This story blew my mind! Cassy, you have done it again!

It was such a unique story between two imperfect individuals. It takes you on a crazy ride of sex, lust and love. Secrets are kept, and when they are discovered, will they survive it all?

"So pleasure you feel. Pleasure you understand. Is this why you're an escort?"
"Yes."
"I see."

The connection between Andris and Jericho/Nicola was explosive!! The heat those two had was HAWT! The VOID that has been present in Nicola's life is slowly being filled by this mysterious man that haunts her every thought.

I could not stop turning the pages! I wanted to know more! I had to know what was going to happen next. Cassy did an amazing job keeping my interest, and making ignore the world around me because I was wrapped up in the world of Andris and Nicola.

I promise you that you will not be able to put this book down! You will be immersed in this twisted love story and you won't want it to end!

Cassy, I applaude you for taking it to the next level! This story will stay with me because it's unlike any other out there! Congrats, girl!

Ugh! I was excited by the synopsis of this story. I grabbed it and just dove in expecting the intriguing and interesting story promised, but it fell way short in execution. The first couple of chapters were very good and had me gripped with the thrill of a mystery brewing between three people. But then it all started falling apart and regrettably just kept going downhill. I think the author lost focus somewhere and tried to achieve too many things in one book. I would've been happy if she's just concentrated on Nicola's and Andris' relationship and their individual issues. Which let me tell you would've been more than plenty because OMG did they have issues! But then all of a sudden there's a shitload of plots and subplots all mangled up together! This isn't a very long book for so many different storylines to be be fully developed and resolved properly. The story suffered. The characters suffered. It became a mess. So sad really, because the premise for the story had me salivating. The bookcover and book title are perfect. And like I said, the first few chapters were on track. But then at about 20% into the book, BAM! It all started to go off-track and never really recovered. I'm surprised I kept going to be honest. I guess I needed to find out how it ended. And the ending was sadly also predictable.

My biggest issue with the story however was the fact that the main character Nicola supposedly suffers from a lack of feelings, and makes her living as an escort, but then BAM! she's all full of "feelings" after one hot night of blindfolded sex??!! Really??!! Her "lack of emotions" affliction didn't even make it through a quarter of the story! For goodness sake! Very disappointing.

5 Hot, Sexy, Suspenseful Stars Amazing!!!!!!

First off, Go into this story blind if you truly want to enjoy the ride for sure.

Holy Wowza, I just finished and I am still reeling from this complete roller coaster of emotions!!!!!!!! This story was great, I mean Great Paced, Flowed Seamlessly, and it was Hot, Steamy, Sexy, Sweet, too and just full of every emotion one could possible feel from reading this type of book!!!!!

I can't say much about the story except that I did figure out pretty early on the major twist and that was ok because even though I thought I knew, I really didn't have confirmation until the end and I didn't read any spoilers..... My only weird resolved yet unresolved issue was with Mrs. Cardinelli, yep, I can't say it exactly but I found it weird that it was never brought up again except upon the initial "find" by Nicola, then her hubby confirmed "it" with Nicola and then it was brushed under the rug (never brought up again) esp where there was a "contract" in place and that was by far the biggest breech! Just a minor hiccup for me that I wish had been further hashed out, lololol!!!!!

A huge Congrats to Cassy Roop on another Grand Slam for me. I have read her other books and yep, I am a fan for life:) Can't wait to see what's in store next for us!!!!! I will be patiently or rather impatiently waiting, hehehe!!!!!!

DNF 22% idk I couldn't get into this. I am usually intrigued by escort stories. But supposedly she has no feelings- yet all of a sudden one night blind folded with a mysterious guy and all that changes. I was expecting her "no emotions" to last a little longer to make it interesting. *shrugs* maybe I'll get back to this story one day.

This was a good book. I liked the twists and turns in finding who Link is, as well as Sinclair, Dr. Gunn and Nicola. I loved the ending!!!

VOID

STORY: 3-stars
PERFORMANCE: 2-stars
OVERALL: 2:5-stars

REVIEW OF THE STORY:
Nicola/Jericho is, “void”, suffering from ALEXITHYMIA. Although I now work as a proofreader and editor, I am still a licensed clinical social worker who worked as a therapist for 11 years. In that time, I never once heard of ALEXITHYMIA which is what the main character has been diagnosed with. Since I read over 200 bucks a year, it’s extremely, extremely rare for me to come across books with something I’ve never heard of before, so I was super impressed by this!!!!

Although Nicola can’t experience most emotions, she can experience physical pleasure, so she makes the most of it by working as a prostitute. when she meets a very unique client and his “friend“, her whole life changes. Again, I was impressed by this innovative premise!

Although what I mentioned above contributed to why I listened/read this entire book, there were also a lot of negatives about this book. The first thing that stood out to me was the repetition. For example, we are told that Nicola can’t experience most emotions more than 5 times before getting 12% into the book.

Second, I struggled with how unrealistic a lot of the psychiatrist’s actions were. For example, Dr. Gun asked his patients questions but didn’t let them answer before pressing on, he betrayed client confidentiality and much more. Worse were the, “coincidences”. After typos, authors relying on, “coincidences” to explain events is my biggest pet peeve in books. Not only do the main characters meet, “unexpectedly,“ but they also “just happen“ to run into each other less than 24 hours after their first meeting. Not only was that beyond unrealistic, it frustrated me that Roop couldn’t come up with something more creative than that to rationalize them reuniting.

And finally, my main complaint is that I guessed what the twist/secret was from very, very early on. And even now, after listening and reading the entire book, I still don’t think the main secret was explained in a way that made it realistic.

REVIEW OF THE PERFORMANCE:
I listened to the audiobook narrated by Meghan Kelly. Unfortunately Ms. Kelly is One of the worst narrators I’ve ever listened to. She is more of a reader than an actress, so her stilted, choppy narration was irritating and definitely detracted from how much I enjoyed this story. After she began mispronouncing words such as décolletage and Louboutins, I finally quit listening to the audiobook, and at at 26%, I chose to listen this e-book via a text to speech app instead. The computerized voices were better than listening to Ms. Kelly!!! If I had known how subpar the narration was before starting, I would not have listened to this audiobook at all.

Escort Nicola, AKA Jericho, suffers from Alexithymia, a disorder that is characterized by the inability to identify and describe emotions. After her psychiatrist retires, his nephew, Dr. Andris Gunn, is slated to take over the family clinic, leaving Nicola in the hands of another doctor. Little does Nicola know that the good doctor has some issues of his own.

At the same time, she is called by the escort agency to service a very loyal client because the girl who normally sees him was involved in an accident. She is picked up by a man named Sinclair, blindfolded, and given instructions as to what she can and cannot do in the presence of her customer, whose name is later revealed as Link.

For Nicola this is not really an unusual request, as she has serviced men in all kinds of situations. However, once the kinky session is over, something happens to Nicola. She experiences feelings. Feelings that are both new and scary for her.

When it’s time for Nicola to meet her new doctor, she is surprised to discover Dr. Gunn is Sinclair, the mystery guy who escorts her to her appointments with Link and instructs her through the headphones she wears during the sessions.

Once the doctor/patient relationship walls are let down, this story picks up. The reader learns the business Dr. Gunn is involved in and how Nicola puts herself at risk in order to help him as well as the committed relationship these two try to form while battling their inner demons. Information about the mysterious Link is also divulged, leaving the reader shocked and wanting more.

Void is not just a story about an escort and a psychiatrist. It is one of two broken people trying to fill a void within themselves for the first time with love. If you’re looking for a unique plot full of twists and turns and OMG moments, Void definitely delivers.

☆☆☆ 3.5 STARS ☆☆☆

Cassy Roop takes you down the very intriguing road of Jericho Lane, an emotionless escort. She has no feelings, in fact she is void of all emotions and has a hard time recognizing them in others. The only thing she knows is pleasure. That is until one last minute call of service for her.

The moment she meets Sinclair she feels something, but unbeknownst to her she doesn't realize exactly what it is. Sinclair hand delivers her to the client, the mysterious Link who has a particular way he likes things done. Blindfolding, no touching, no hearing his voice... only feeling and oh boy, does Link make Jericho feel every part of him. So much so that him plus Sinclair triggers her emotions and the onset of feelings start.

Jericho, formerly known as Nicola has been seeing a therapist since she was a child to deal and cope with her lack of emotion. With Andris taking over the family business, he takes his uncle's patients and BOOM he meets Nicola.

Trying to cut ties with some very bad people and keep his clinic clean he finds himself falling into the corrupt world of the mafia even deeper. But he won't stop until he has ended the partnership between his clinic and the mafia boss. Add that in with his developing feelings for Nicola, his patient and we are thrown into a dysfunctional journey where everyone is connected somehow.

Nicola finds herself falling in love as her emotions continue to be awaken, until someone starts to threaten it all if they don't get what they want. But Nicola isn't the only one up against someone, Andris' is harboring a secret which soon comes to light, exposing the man out in the open as he too is threatened.

No one is as they seems and Cassy Roop holds back no punches. Though this was an engrossing novel I found out the twist earlier on, but regardless this book still held my attention until the very end!

This is a dangerously passionate story. Far from anything i expected. The author came up with a brilliantly unique idea and turned it into love everlasting.

Nicola spent her entire life lost inside herself. Feeling nothing, caring about nothing, fearing nothing. Andris and Link turned her world upside down, just as she changed theirs. Emotions ran deep and hearts were targeted. How can two people learn to love when love was never an option? There are secrets that can destroy this fragile love developing between them. Nicola has done the unforgivable in order to protect everyone involved, but in the end will it matter? Will she lose the only person she has ever cared about?

Andris does everything in his power to remain under control of his life. Nicola proves to be a difficult aspect to handle. She makes him forget that he needs Link to survive, or does he? Staying hidden becomes unbearable, he wants nothing more than to be honest and claim what is truly his to take. Will Nicola understand? Will they ever get past what he has done to protect himself?

OAN: The emotional roller coaster paired with a passion so strong it could destroy the world, blew me away. I got lost in the feelings as if i was there. I could relate to them, i could be them. And the sex was amazing. Detailed enough that i could close my eyes and be Andris, sitting near by, feeding my own personal demon. Surprised is the only word i have after finishing this book. My expectations of the author are extremely high now. I could easily place her in a category alongside Tiffany Reisz!!!

Audiobook

Narration - Meghan Kelly - It was between Pretty good and OK. This book is written in dual POV and she read both parts. Main Male and Main Female where her strongest characters.

I enjoyed this book, although I figured out what was going on in the first scene between Sinclair, Link and Jericho. I had no proof, mind you, but in the end, I was correct with my assumptions.

Jericho doesn't feel anything. No emotions. Her wealthy parents die and leave her with NOTHING. To live and survive, she has a chance encounter where she makes some money by providing a sexual favor and a call girl was born. Since she feels no emotions, she doesn't really care what she's doing or who she's doing. She feels no guilt, remorse, shame, just keeps rolling in the dough, that is until she gets booked with a mystery client. He is somehow able to bring out some measure of feelings in her. But, she's kept blindfolded, never gets to see him or talk to him while he has his sexy way with her.

That's about all I can say without giving too much away.
There's bad guys, sex, lust, mental illness, therapy, romance, danger and mystery.

It's an enjoyable listen!

This book was a cool concept and I was hooked from the beginning. I think the mystery was intriguing and I was excited to solve it. Where I think I struggled was the execution. I figured Andris out pretty quick and all of the different things going on were a bit dramatic. It seemed next to impossible that he was going to walk away from the mess he was in and then boom it was resolved. I liked Nicola she was really interesting and again the concept surrounding her issues was fascinating. I lost her in the connection with Andris and Link. The sex scenes with them were really hot, but the whole romance was confusing. I didn’t really feel like I could connect to them as a couple as the truth came out.

I would read something by this author again this just didn’t work well for me.

The book started off intriguing ! No emotions? That totally sucks ! But also understandable for her job title and why she chose that as a carer.

When I read the comments about this book and what other people though, before reading, I was keeping an open mind, knowing that there was going to be a twist by the end of the book... A few chapters in, and I find little clues as to what the twist would end up being, and I was correct! Don't you just love it when you can guess what happens by the end of the book? Sometimes it's good, and sometimes it's not.

Well this book, was predictable, i mean come one, the mob guy got arrested? Is that it? No beatings, very little threats, from the mob guy? A bit boring if you ask me.....
