Bisson makes a lot of interesting choices but also feels compelled to describe the skin color of every single character. In addition to being weird, it's just plain wrong sometimes, as the casting whims shifted.

I watched the movie instead of reading the book which was very exciting. Lots of killing and blood. The plot was interesting and new to me.

I liked this sci-fi thriller about virtual intelligence combined with a physical body. Someday, I'll see the movie this book was based on.
