This book was just... meh. I had some issues with Ava, and there were some consistency problems, but for the most part, it was OK. I gave it three stars simply because it wasn't riddled with typos and punctuation problems, as these books tend to be.

There definitely were consistency problems. First, her mom's mate was named Lucius, then it is Miles later. Plus, we already knew he betrayed her mom in claiming she seduced him, so I don't understand why it was such a big deal when she found out. Her mom had already told her these things.
I also wish we had some more closure with Miles. Him disappearing never to be seen again just doesn't really do it for me.

Ava, though... Ava annoyed the crap out of me. She was so wishy-washy about making the decision to stay with Leo. Then, when she decided she had to leave Oliver, she still wasn't sure she was going to stay. Seriously! Put on your big girl panties and talk about things. Sure, the torture and execution were extreme, but she will be Queen and in a position to make positive changes.

It felt too sudden for Jade and Leo's mom both to suddenly respect her simply because she won a fight. What the heck does that prove? How does that show that she will be a good Queen? That makes no sense to me.

I was generous in my 3 star rating. I don't think I would recommend this to others, but that being said, so far it isn't even near the worst. It's sad when that is the accolades that you get for a book. I still hold that the first 3 were the best so far, though.

Sometime fate is questioned but then she comes through proving she knows what she is doing. Ava a waitress a pushover when it came to saying no to others or saying NO overall nice which sometimes landed her into trouble, she worked to take care of herself, her mom, and wishing she had a life but couldn’t bring herself to have one leaving her mom who wasn’t in the best health again the inability to think of herself without feeling guilty but little did she know that was so much more to her and her mother that was kept secret. Leo sexy as all get out alpha king ruthless in every way was on his way back to his pack after securing prisoners from another pack despised humans yet crossing through a human town nearly hit by a human only to realize that there is something about her that calls to him and his wolf but waking up to realize she gave his wolf suppressants then for her mom to walk him with the mark of a rouge not just a rouge but a luna no less all this Ava knew nothing or did she lie to him. Fast forward after he walks away leaving her she realizes he left her with a gift a beautiful gift she learns the truth from her mother but when he comes back searching for her years later will she accept him, will give him a chance to explain, will she give him a chance to know his child, where are they headed, and is there some form of happiness for them?

I'm not a fan of past tense writing and that makes up a lot of the book. It makes me feel this is a writing draft for a great book sometimes. it would be nice to read the events like a story instead of a retelling from the fmc.

Even though it's not my style, I loved it more than I thought I would. There wasn't some crazy amount of time going by, just 2 years. The baby was the correct age! 👏👏 He immediately started groveling and apologizing. The fmc was the perfect amount of irritating. This was a cozy story to me, especially once I got over the past tense style. There was casual and expected drama.

I also love when authors incorporate the goddess being a manipulative with the mates. The way the view of rogues changed was nicely tied into the whole book.

This book was eh. There were many parts of the storyline that were overused and just boring. I felt like he didn’t get to see a real relationship between them enough. They almost barely interacted. So many things were randomly thrown it that didn’t make sense or just made it too much. It seem like fifty different stories matched together. It wasn’t horrible but I can’t give it an average score. 2.5/5

Vera Fae has done it again with an amazing book!! The electric pull between Ava and Leo had me on the edge of my seat. I love how Ava grows stronger into her wolf side. King Leo only gets better and shows how a true leader rules. Now I’m want a story about Cassie and her mate!!

Idk, between the execution scene (after torturing these people for 2 years) and that mean gossip game, I grew to strongly dislike these characters. I’m officially calling it quits on this series. If you like it I won’t judge, but I’m just not finding what I’m looking for from it

Great story

This was a great read. About a Akpha King who is into a woman who nearly hit him. She takes him home, sleeps with him and she finds out her mom was suppressing her wolf with pills

Captivating Love Story

This story instantly pulls you in. There is growth, determination, strength and Love throughout the book. If your looking for a story with just enough drama, but not too much, this is a perfect read. While it had suspense at points, it wasn't stressful.
