I just finished reading Ginney's newest book, #21. She has promised to keep writing this series indefinitely. I hope so! I have learned so very much from these books. I realize they are fiction but are based on real life history. I love the way all the characters are carried forward in each book. We lose one every now and then, just like in real life. Her books are a great addition to anyone's library. A must read! Eagerly awaiting #22.

Absolutely wonderful!

As with the other 20 books, this one ended way too soon. Prayers for your health to stay good for a long time to come so you can continue this series. I'm starting to wish I had book the actual hard back book or paper back instead of the digital. Love your books! I anxiously await # 22.

The series review, Stunning!

I have yet to review a single book in this series. I read every day. It is my escape, my relaxation and my window into others minds and lives. I read all sorts of books. Novels, mysterious sagas, historical fiction and more. I love the mix and the change of it all. I tell you this because it is important for you to understand that this series stopped me in my tracks. I have not read anything but this series since I began it. Not a Nora Roberts, not a Clancy or a Koontz. Or any other wonderful author I enjoy. I read on a Fire tablet and their were many times I stopped to reference a General or a President or an era this series refered to. I have learned so much. It put what I thought I knew of history into a timeline. With people, people I have grown to love and admire. I suppose they are to be called characters, I feel as though they are my people. People that inspire me. People that give and encourage me to do better. In closing I want to say, my favorite read up until now has been Gone With The Wind. This series starts in that era and sparked my interest to continue. Little did I know what a wonderful journey I had begun. I highly recommend this book. I would so much love to be a part of a Bregdan community. Read it. You'll wish the same. I promise!!!!

Love this whole series. Love learning new facts about history that all seem to be historically correct. This is an easy and enjoyable series to read. However, so much racial inequality in our country was really at the top during this period of time and it just is so hard to swallow. Otherwise though is very historically accurate and I appreciate the ride or not glossing over that fact. It’s very well written account of the days and time in which was written.

A New Beginning

The Cromwell Plantation sees more changes and yet continues to provide love and happiness, along with a safe haven for those needing one. Felicia and Frances expand their horizons to the West, then further Northeast. Old friends and colleagues re-enter their lives and there are changes that are hard to accept. The stories continue to inspire and the lives of those on Cromwell expand and grow. I again learned more of our history and still love all the characters. Looking forward to the next installment.

There's not really a bad book in this series, but I don't think I enjoyed this one as much as I have some of the others, and I can't pinpoint why. Maybe there was a little too much in-depth information about the stock market crash. Maybe it was because over 500 pages was a bit too long. I really don't know. I've grown to look forward to the next book in this series, and I did like this one, there was just something lacking for me. It actually got better towards the end in my view.

One problem I have (and I'm not sure whether others do, too), is that since new characters are added with every book in the series and there is 6 months to a year between each, it is easy to forget all the names and their relationships to one another. There are just SO many characters now. It would probably be helpful to have some kind of map/tree in the front of each book to remind readers of the relationships.

Another in siteful journey

I love the journey into our past and history. Ginny does a great job of researching the things that we have forgotten or never learned in our history class.
The great depression has been forgotten, thanks for the reminder. Most of us only know about the 1930 one. In
our present world we need to be reminded that history repeats itself.
The women in these books are models to learn from. Even the youngest are brilliant and thoughtful!
Thank you for keeping us informed of each character's history and story line in our "forever" wait for the next edition of the series.

Gateway To A New Beginning

I have just finished reading the 21st book of this series and have been reading them for many years, eagerly waiting for the next book. This one has touched me more than any of the others, the story, the lessons and the phrases that I will remember. I feel as if the people in this book are a part of my family. I love history and have learned so many different things from these books and I love the research Ginny has done to make them correct. Every time I have read about something that I did not know I look it up and it’s always accurate!
Thank you Ginny for these books and please never stop writing them!

I've read all the books in this series, was looking forward to this one, I was a bit disappointed, To me it was pretty much a recap of the previous books and the past, and very very long drawn out conversations that sometimes felt to me like history lessons and like the historybooks from school. I love history but this was a bit much. Not much happended with the characters, some were barely mentioned, if at all. Coversations went on for a few pages about how they came to the farm . I skipped alot of pages. A bit boring.

Ginny Dye hits a Home Run once again!

I thought it might be a bit challenging to remember all of the characters, their names (Alice 1 and 2!), but Ginny has crafted the next portion of the story of the Bregdan Women AND Men to help those of us with slightly foggy memories jump right back in! (Thanks, Ginny!)

I can’t wait to read the next part of the story in the spring!

Much love to Ginny and Seuss for facing so much adversity and always coming out on top! What role models for us all!!!!

I can never get enough of this series of books! I always read from the start before the next one comes out and then after I finish the latest #21 I can’t wait for another one to come out!

Even though this series of books is historical fiction there is enough reality and truth to provide me
with questions and inquiries about the past and how reality of today is still based on unlearned lessons from the past! Ginny Dye the author creates characters and events that come to life before your eyes! Can’t wait for #22. Thanks to the author for a fantastic read!

I've read all of the books in this series, but I just can't bring myself to make it through this one. The dialogues are always so sappy and overly drawn out and explained. As much as it would please me, no one speaks to each other in such a well thought out manner about EVERY single thing. I overlooked it once I was so invested in this series, because it has always been very educational and thought-provoking. I just can't take the family's sappiness any longer. I know in today's world, we could use it, but reading this same dialogue through book 20 is just not for me.

Continuation of the Bregdan Saga

Even after time in between this book (#21) and the previous book (#20), the characters jump right off the pages to entertain us. I was walking and listening to this book and became very surprised that it is finished until next year. I hope that you continue writing many, more years Ginny. I hope that you are feeling better each and every day and recover fully.
I have enjoyed everyone of these books and look forward to reading the next one.
Take care and God bless you Ginny.

It is all so real with the plantation, school, the travels and the adoptions ,even the KKK. I love the traditions at Christmas and at New Years.

Brilliant as always

I’ve learned so much history reading Ginny Dye’s series The Bregdan Chronicles. Though the series is fictional, the author obviously researches for true facts in order to portray the history surrounding the story. I look forward to the next novel.

I could not put this book down! It is close to if not the most intense books in this series and I have read them ALL! In fact, I haven't had alligator tears from reading any book before! Well, maybe a small sniffle in a couple but not tears that needed a Kleenex! Now.....I preordered #22 however, Amazon refunded my money! what is up with that? I don't want to wait many more minutes before I get to read #22! Can someone tell me what is going on?

Another exceptional book by Ginny Dye continues the saga of Dr. Carrie Wallington and her strong band of women. This book covers the period of 1873 to the beginning of 1874. Ginny Dye's books transport the reader to Virginia and beyond and how hard it was for women and people of color to survive. Wonderful reading!

Awesome book again! Love this series and can't wait for the next book to come out. Times are changing and yet not. Blacks are still dealing with KKK. Suicide was a big topic and loss of hope. Stock market crash and artificial limbs and banks failing. I love reading American History through the eyes of these characters.

Wow, another fantastic Bregdan Chronicles book. I must thank Ginny Dye and her incredible research efforts needed to right such wonderful and eye opening stories. Only thing I'm a shamed of is my lack of education throughout my years that should have been a source of knowledge regarding slavery and women's rights. I guess better late than never. Can't wait for the next book. Thank you Ginny Dye.

The best Series ever!

I had read the first five books in this series a few years ago. I loved them! I decided I wanted to start at the beginning and read all 21 books. It was a good decision. There is so much history included in each book, some things I had forgotten, some I never knew about. I could have continued reading about these families forever I think! Thank you!
