I have been a founding entrepreneur at several successful high tech ventures and have also served on the boards of several companies, non-profits, and ministries. As a Christian in business, I'm keenly aware of the challenge of living out our faith in the workplace. I developed much of the material for Fruit at Work when my pastor asked me to develop and teach a bible study on faith in the workplace. The work was so rewarding, and the reaction from the participants was so strong that I decided to publish it as a book.
Since its publication, I've had some terrific conversations with other Christians in business and look forward to blogging more about the topic at the book's web site: www.fruitatwork.org
Got this book at Truth at Work conference. I enjoyed the concept of living the "fruits of the Spirit" at work. Great reminder that living a Christ centered life will make a positive impact on one's co-workers.
This is a very thoughtful application of Galatians 5:22-23 to the workplace. As is the case with all aspects of life, the Gospel is transformative and the workplace is not an exception either. It isn't formulaic, but authentic. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control are fruit of a spirit that understands God's love.
This was a really helpful and insightful book, filled with application ideas for Christians in the business environment. I used it as a devotional (one chapter each morning), and it was so encouraging I think I will do the same thing again at some point in the future.
