When she joins a world-renowned medical organization that brings medicine to remote parts of the world, dedicated virologist Lucy Nash falls for her handsome colleague, but within a matter of days her romance is shattered, her faith shaken, and her life a living nightmare. Original.
I'm not sure why this book did not rate 4* for me. From the blurb, I fully expected to thoroughly enjoy it. Maybe it was that my attention got distracted too much while reading it; maybe it was too many parts to the storyline; or, maybe it was that I really did not know who to like/dislike and so never really rooted for any of the other characters.
I enjoyed the book, but I did have a few issues with it. The ending seemed somewhat rushed. For me, there were a few loose ends I would have preferred more exposition on, and I could have really done without the rape scene. Still, I would read other books by the author. The medical/virus aspect of the story was captivating. It had detail I haven't seen in similar stories.
