Bought a decent used copy - lots of extras and ideas in this. Maybe it's geared toward kids/young adults, but I didn't find it as in-depth as my other new map book.
The package comes as a bigger-format book (roughly 9.25" x 11") but the "real book" is tucked inside. The big pages are all sample pages for the reader to use in completing exercises. The small book inside is very worth while, with interesting ideas and projects to complete. While I generally don't like a "book" that is really blank pages, it works here. Largely because the real textbook part is separate, a smaller size, and attached. The ideas are fresh, and the maps suggestions and information shows real experience and background. Salli Swindell is listed as the author, but Nate Padavick, who is listed at the first author on the book, is a man with a great deal of cartography experience.
