But when it comes to women and romance, he’s not willing to risk anything. Women are there for his amusement and nothing more, and being a gorgeous, sexy Lathem brother, allows him to do as he pleases. Women throw themselves at him all night long. Beth Collins has made New York City her home after relocating from England. She’s created a quiet life for herself and her faithful four-legged companion, Cleo. When Tim rescues Cleo from her building that’s on fire, her gratitude turns into something more. Sparks instantly fly between them and the feelings they have for each other are real and deep, scaring them both. Beth’s family does not approve of Tim…he doesn’t measure up to their rigid standards as husband material, so Beth is torn between following her heart and respecting the wishes of her parents. Tim is a playboy and loves his lifestyle. He’s not sure he’s ready to settle down. Will he give it all up for her? Can love truly conquer all? First Class Rescue is the seventh book in the contemporary romance ‘First Class’ series.
AJ grew up in Perth, Western Australia. She is the third of six children and her first exposure to romance was her parents. Now married for almost 55 years, they have always been her example when working on her own marriage and parenting skills. Jane Austen, the Bronte sisters and Georgette Heyer, were the writers she grew to love in adolescence and still loves now. Her list of favorite authors now has grown to include, not only historical but also contemporary authors as well. Sadly, she doesn’t have as much time to indulge in novels as much as she would like. Her family and now writing her own novels, keeps her very busy, but you will always find a book on her nightstand. Other hobbies include cooking, one her favorite television shows is The Next Iron Chef on Food Network, and traveling, the UK and the Caribbean her favorite places to visit. She and her husband of 28 years, reside on the west coast of the USA and have two grown children, making them empty-nesters, and recently adopted a rescued puppy, Max, from the local humane society.
I love this book. From the first line to the last, it had me hooked. Something new is always happening and the family is fantastic. No spoilers and I’m going to post the same review for all 9 books. This is the umpteenth time I have read them. I give them another read when I want to be completely immersed in the Lathem family and come out feeling great. Wonderful romances. Read them all!
It seems like there must have been a very close deadline for completion on these last two books that I've read so far because the stories seem rushed. Not that they were bad stories, they just seemed rushed & incomplete to me. There is still the editing that's agitating me, but I will complete this series. As my grandfather use to tell me "Once a task has begun it's not complete until it's done."
It only takes a minute for Tim and Beth to feel the connection when the firefighter and Beth's dog Chloe seem to become quick friends. So nothing, not even social standings can keep Tim from falling in love with Beth. Love never discriminates based on money in the bank - it can only use the connection it feels and the future it wants. I absolutely loved this story.
Tim, the youngest Lathem brother, he is dedicated to his career, and unlike some of his other brothers. Money never inspired him to take the same path. As a proud Fire Fighter he has held his own, as a brave young hero. But like all his brothers that came before him, the Playboy life style fits him just fine.
Beth Collins, an Editor and totally self-reliant, woman has made New York City her home after relocating from England. She has no interest in the dating world, especially knowing that whoever she would pick, would never live up to her parents standards.
Then their paths meet Cleo, her beloved dog is in danger and it’s up to the fire fighters to rescue her, But who will go back into a blazing inferno for an animal? The fireworks start but suddenly are distinguished because they both aren’t ready for the complications they each hold when attempting to have a relationship. Can they both push the outside world away to concentrate on what could be? Read and find out. This is #7 in the collection, AJ harmon has captured me with her Lathem Brothers series, well written, great story lines, never repeating one another. One brother after another are original and unique. All sexy All have a quality you will want. The family unit is always the priority. And you will grow to love each and every one. I highly recommend the collection, because once you start it’s hard to stop. On to #8.
First Class Rescue is the seventh book in the contemporary romance ‘First Class’ series. (For mature audiences only – Adult content)
Time is the baby of the family and at 31 he's happy as a self proclaimed man-whore. But when a fire in a building causes him to rescue a german shepard life will never again be the same. Beth's building was on fire and a fireman rescued Cleo her dog as a thank you they bring him some cupcakes, but seeing out of the bulky uniform has her burning up! When Cleo keeps escaping and running to Tim he take her back to her owner, and Beth and Tim get to know each other. Things are changing for Tim and he's finally understanding how his brother's all fell from batchlerhood, when when a dinner with Beth and her sister happens afterwards Beth won't return his calls anymore and he can't understand why. Beth knows how her uptight English family will respond to her being with a blue coller worker and she thought she was doing the right thing letting him go, but now months later what will she really choose.
Tim really is a sweetie and his choice to be a fireman stems from the 9-11 attacks, he's got a good heart and it's was great seeing him in his journey to finding love.
**Not a standalone** This is the 7th 5 star rating in the First Class series. A magnificent read with so much to enjoy. Every element of pure perfection. Such a sweet storyline full of romance. An emotional journey of love and relationship development. Realistic usage of life events and activities. Excellent portrayal and inclusion of sensitive topics. A wide array of settings that help support the storyline in a fun creative manner. Characters that are so interesting and likeable(well there might be one that pushes the boundaries of liking). Leading roles that are not looking for love until it happens. A matchmaking 4 legged furry best friend adds to the wonderful revolution of this love story. Great continuation of the love stories from previous books. A very quick read and is very well written. Highly recommend!!!!! AndreaAH
I love these First Class stories. This one, First Class Rescue the seventh book in this series, is of Tim falling in love. On a fire call he ended up rescuing a dog and the dog and the owner fell in love with Tim. I love the Lathem family and all of the new additions of wives and step-children and in this case, a fur pet. I loved how Harmon brought awareness to the Humane Society and how they are more than just a place to find a pet. Cloe’s owner, Beth, is from England and from a very prominent family. She finds herself at a cross road of who to choose, the love of her life or her family. Love the love story and how it all turned out. Can’t wait to start the next one.
I loved this series by AJ Harmon, I had thought I had reviewed it when I read it but come to find I hadn't and that was two years ago and I still remember this series and the characters, What an interesting family and each book is dedicated to one member, its the type of family most of wish we could belong too. These books have the whole meal deal, laugh out load moments, sadness and family gatherings that would make a good movie series. Thank you AJ for your writing and giving me so many good memories of reading, Cheers
Okay so we got Millionaires, Navy Seal, Artist and now the Fire Fighter. Oh my can it get any better than this?? Tim has no interest in settling down and being “whipped” like his brothers, till Cleo opens his eyes to Beth. Coming from a different style family Beth is scared to love Tim so they have to work through all the issues of family and they do this by pushing each other away and then pulling each other in. The need to find a way to Rescue their hearts together.
Who can resist Tim Lathan, a New York City Fire Fighter that rescues dogs from burning buildings? For Beth Collins the owner of Cleo the German Shepherd it is a First Class Rescue. She is from an upper class English family and he is one of seven brothers from New York City and the love story is sweet, full of help from Cleo and shows how much of a hero Tim really is as he helps other fire fighters too. Great Love story with lots of human interest aspects too.
When 2 hearts meet, with heavenly intervention, it always turns out perfectly. AJ has done another exceptionally wonderful job weaving these characters into the first class novel that she is famous for. Love it!
This was such a good story. I really enjoyed reading about the characters. It kept my interest and had fun scenes. Her dog is so determined to be friends that it helps them get together.
