Everything I Need to Know I Learned From Led Zeppelin: Classic Rock Wisdom

Rate this book
Is there a bustle in your hedgerow?  Does it alarm you?  Are you aware that it is just a Spring clean from the May Queen?  Thankfully, for those whose hedgerows are alarmingly bustled, Led Zeppelin answered this existentially relevant question in the classic rock song Stairway to Heaven .  In Benjamin Darling's new book Everything I Need to Know I learned From Led Zeppelin Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Bonham and John Paul Jones, through their lyrics, and select quotes; with their magical, dreamy and overwhelmingly positive message  provide the reader newly minted aphorisms and freshly conceived maxims  on the timeless topics of life, love and happiness.  All this great advice is wittily presented and cleverly illustrated with children's primer/classic rock art mash-ups.  Reader's will find deep wisdom and profound poetry in the lyrics featured in Everything I Need to Know I learned From Led Zeppelin; part self-help, part anthology, and part philosophical treatise, the book is an exercise, through words and whimsical pictures in free thought, the type of thought many have experienced laying back on their bed staring at a record album  cover.

My daughter has this book and I will find any excuse to read anything illustrated/graphic. The only song that I know and love by Led Zeppelin is “Stairway to Heaven”. This book is geared more for die-hard fans. It would have fitted in perfectly with the movie “School of Rock” (Jack Black)! It’s cute, the illustrations are all vintage and an absolute delight.

As a Led Zeppelin fan, this had been on my list for awhile before I saw it in a guitar and car store in Miami. It's pretty much what you'd expect it be. Lots of song lyrics with vintage artwork. Some song recommendations thrown in the mix for good measure.

This would make a very cool gift and a fun coffee table book.

They took Zeppelin lyrics (notice it's entered into Goodreads misspelled?) and put them in 1940s/1950s children book format.

Even my 21 year old son who isn't much of a reader liked this one.

Yes. This is me.
But seriously a funny and insightful book. Their use of lyrics to explain the world in a very weird and honest way validated the title.
Yes. This is me.

A Christmas gift from a dear friend who understands me--this "children's book" is clever and beautifully assembled. All kinds of memories in these pages as well as a new appreciation of Zeppelin's lyrics.
