Although I recommend this book for beginning coders, I think it's most beneficial as an additional (not a primary) resource. I studied with other sources and put what I learned into practice before i started reading this, which helped me pinpoint what I needed to study more intensely.
One detail that makes this book a valuable resource is that it defines which elements are 2 2qq taste, such as the tag. As a true beginner, there's no way for me to know if a design is tacky unless someone tells me, so I really appreciated that part. I also enjoyed learning so many effects I didn't know were available! My website is really starting to look not-completely amateurish. Worth the read.

One of the best coding books for beginners that I have ever read. Before a beginner reads anything other book on web development, they should read this one first.

A very good intro to HTML5 and CSS3. It starts off with the most basic things but by the end you have a solid grasp of HTML5 and CSS3.
