Babylon is not a place but rather the seducing spirit of Antichrist, which has quietly infiltrated the pulpits, pews, bookstores and homes of the Christian ranks. Armed with a vast array of worldly charms and enchanting indulgences, she has deceived believers into exchanging a vibrant life in God for the empty shell of powerless religion. Intoxicated with Babylon rips the mask off this harlot's face and exposes how she has subtly woven her mindset into the fabric of the end–times Church. It is a sobering wake–up call to a slumbering and sensuous Church to return to holy living.

I highly recommend this book. The author does not hold back and clearly refers to Biblical scripture regarding how we as a professing Christians and a Church have been too influenced by Satans kingdom and how it has crept into our lives, homes, and churches. This book definitely has allowed me to take a look at myself and see what areas of my life I need to work on!!!!!! Thank you for bringing this out clearly.
The request....."My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me." Mt 26:38
The warning......"Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak."
We love something that is temporary while losing what is eternal. This book encouraged me to the make life, entertainment decisions with eternity in mind.
Fantastic book on the need for holiness in our day to day lives. The author boldly points out the deception of our enemy. Convicting and encouraging. Gallagher presents hard truths and wisdom without the sledgehammer of woes and fear tactics of some. Would definitely recommend for every saint in the church.
A much needed cry to God's people or anyone who will listen
We certainly do live in a world like Babylon. Many or even most see no problem with that. But God is clear in His word that He has no truck with it. He is holy and His people will be too.
Very convicting. If you're not interested in being sold out to Jesus, ready to turn loose of the entertainment of this carnal world, this book will frustrate, even anger you. If you're ready to grasp why the pull and seduction of the world is still so powerful, however, this book is a must-read. I will probably read this several times, and will certainly draw from it as a resource in my preaching/teaching.
Kind of had a legalistic bent to it. A focus on right behavior rather than relying on God's grace. And, it didn't seem to offer anything new or fresh. Also, it had a lot of lengthy Bible passages that consumed much of it's pages. I buy books for new material and new insight written by the author, not repetitious and plagiarized Bible passages that I already have at my disposal. Cool cover though.
This was an excellent book. There were times that I felt if out of balance it might turn to a legalistic extreme, but considering the state of the church, I feel it is a word in season. I was underlining things throughout.
Great thought, spot on with his analysis of the church. Definitely could have used a whole bunch off foot noting for the historical theory. Also it got a little repetitive, could have ended 30-40 pages before it did. Overall it was good, just really needs sources.
