This is the first of the Dummies series I have ever read. And I must say that it has really been a nice summary of the meaning of spirituality. But it makes spirituality look like a cheap express coffee. It takes away the essence of spirituality to the point that it becomes just another self-help manual.

It's humor is passable. At times it can be a great addition to the whole seriousness to the whole concept. However the humor is irritating most of the time ruining the whole mood of the topic and takes away the focus on the subject.

It does explain some of the fundamentals of spirituality. But at the end it makes the whole concept just another means to an end. All in all Spirituality for dummies makes spirituality look like just another quick self-help concept with an audio cd.

It is an optimistic point-of-view of different faiths. When I suggest this book they laugh at the title but I assure them it's very good. If you are seeking a spiritual path and open-minded this is the book for you.

I skimmed through it and didn't really like it. I think Lama Surya Das's book pretty much taught me most of what is in this book.
