Thomas the Tank Engine's friends Bash and Dash are fast, cheeky, and always getting into mischief! Thomas chases the twin engines all around the Island of Sodor, trying to keep them out of trouble. Train-obsessed boys and girls ages 4–6 will love this Step 1 leveled reader with stickers featuring their favorite Thomas & Friends characters.
Wilbert Vere Awdry, OBE, better known as the Rev. W. Awdry, was an English clergyman, railway enthusiast and children's author, and creator of Thomas the Tank Engine, who starred in Awdry's acclaimed Railway Series.
The characters that would make Awdry famous, and the first stories featuring them, were invented in 1943 to amuse his son Christopher during a bout of measles. The first book (The Three Railway Engines) was published in 1945, and by the time Awdry stopped writing in 1972, The Railway Series numbered 26 books. Christopher subsequently added further books to the series.
Neo took the lead on this track-bending story about two trains, who are friends with the popular Thomas the Tank Engine. Bash and Dash enjoy speeding around the track, racing one another at top speeds. However, when some logs fall across the tracks, it could be disaster, unless Thomas is able to think up something that will help. Neo enjoyed reading this book to me, which allowed him to push through some wonderful words, big and small, before getting to the end and feeling much joy with the completion.
Definitely the wrost Thomas the Tank Engine book I've ever read. The story (if you could call it that) was about Bash and Dash and Thomas was 'supposed' to save the day, but Thomas didn't actually do anything.
My son absolutely loves all of the Thomas and Friends books and this one was not different. This book is great for beginner readers, preschoolers and older toddlers.
