This is the 1,000 page workbook/book for my Medical Terminology class and yes, I read every STINKING term! Ugh. More of a review of the class then the book, it was a TON of work and am grateful the blessed thing is over! (Well, I have my final next week.) The worst part? Basically, as a stenographer I should put every term into my personal dictionary for my steno machine.......Tomorrow is another day Scarlett.........

This dear textbook was honestly a good read. While I didn't necessarily 'read' it per say, more studied it, I did find its contents and structure easy to follow. However, in the class that this text was I received a 95.8%, just 0.2% behind an A, so that was majorly disappointing.

I read this baby cover to cover (which I have not done for any other textbook before ever) so this had to be counted in my good reads total 😤 overall this book is great, it gave me a solid refresher on anatomy concepts (or for those who haven’t taken anatomy it will give you a great foundation), it makes learning word parts really easy by giving so many examples. I also like that for all of the pathologies/procedures they include more information on them rather than just the literal definition (so they give signs, symptoms, treatments, when/why the procedure is performed, etc.) the pictures are also really helpful and make studying a lot more interesting. The exercises at the end of each chapter are also very helpful for active recall and to check for understanding! Hopefully I do well on my PA school med term exam 😂

I think the author of this book has done an excellent job. This is written in a manner in which anyone can learn the language of medical terminology. They also have an audio file for purchase if you are taking this course online for about $25. Don't be concerned if you buy a used book and it is missing the enclosed animation disk. It isn't a life saver. The book itself is worth its weight in gold. You can usually pick up this edition online for $50 excellent condition no marks. Don't buy a copy written in if you really want to do this program as it is designed. I recommend following the curriculum as the instructor designed. Read, write, speak, repeat.

This book is thick, but extremely informative and an excellent reference. The online companion to the text is a valuable resource as well. Some things presented in the material I already knew, but there were always a lot of terms in medical jargon that seemed a total puzzle to me, and all of it is much more clear now that I know what the broken-down components of those terms actually refer to.

Not bad but not great. It's dry, as expected---its a textbook. The diagrams with labeling as you read is helpful but I dislike how some sections didn't give... definitive definitions. I had to Google things for better explanations. Thank God the internet exists. If you are looking for a good intro to a chapter subject or body system, check out Crash Course "Anatomy & Physiology" series.

This is still my favorite medical terminology text. Even after having had to acquire more in dental & pre-medical, this huge books covers the basics and breaks every word/term and enables you to use those basics to apply it to the rest of your studies (if need be).

Easy way of studying

Good way of studying. Helps a lot, especially when there are specific words I want to find and I don’t want to read everything.

I got the 11th edition. This textbook paired with a quizlet set is the most effective way to learn medical terminology. Be prepared, though, because there are explicit pictures.

School textbook. Very informative. Wish the pronunciation was next to the terms instead of at the end of the chapters.
