As the busy mother of five young children, Kelly Rudnicki faced a daily challenge when it came to feeding her family. Things got even more complicated when one of her sons was diagnosed with severe food allergies. Launching the Food Allergy Mama website, she struck a chord with parents and home cooks in similar situations and made it her mission to prove that allergen-free meals can be easy and flavorful. Showcasing the very best of Rudnicki's repertoire, The Food Allergy Mama's Easy, Fast Family Meals makes it simple to please a hungry crowd. Rudnicki purposely tests her recipes on friends and neighbors who don't have food allergies just to make sure her cooking tastes like "regular" cuisine. The result is a bounty of delicious offerings, Morning Glory Muffins Breakfast Burritos Creamy Tomato Soup Hearty Pasta Featuring Grandma Jeanne's Bolognese Sauce Oatmeal Fudge Bars All recipes are made without milk, butter, cheese, eggs, or nuts. She also includes time-saving tips, and ideas for inexpensive ingredient substitutions, including tofu and applesauce. After reading through these recipes, I know this a book I need to own. I love Kelly's baking book and use it all the time, and so I figured this title with meal and snack ideas would be good, too.

No recipes require a huge departure from the way that I grew up eating, cooking, and baking. She makes very simple substitutions for meals and snacks and baked goods that are just slightly adapted from traditional egg/dairy/nut recipes. I really want to try her glazed cake donut and oatmeal creme pie recipes, but I'm also excited to try out some of her meal ideas.

I wish that her (baking) recipes had less sugar, but this book is going to be another one of my go-to titles.

Book was just ok. I like cookbooks that show a picture for every recipe. This book had very FEW pictures. Also, this book is really geared towards people with kids. If you don't have kids, you probably won't find many dishes you'd want to try

Great resource for family with multiple food allergies (us!). The recipes seem easy to follow and easy ingredients. There are a lot that I flagged to try. We will see how the taste testing goes!
