I really enjoy this story but reading 2 chapters at a time is ridiculous. The author is price gouging the reader. I will NEVER buy a book being released this way again. What a shame!!

I'm only reading these 'teaser' installments because I committed to do so for a group read. I've said it before and I'll say it again. The publication format for this book stinks.
I think I'd actually like the story if I got more of it at one sitting. What is the point in stringing your readers along for 2 months?
This has taught me a valuable lesson. No more serializations for me. I'm bitter and I have an overwhelming desire to boycott the authors who participate this type of publishing atrocity.
Really, what better way to tell you readers and fans that they don't matter...gouge them on the overall cost of the book and leave them hanging on a weekly basis. Someone is having a great laugh over all this but it's not the readers.

“Because You Are Mine” (Ian’s & Francesca’s story) is an 8-part series, released in the fall of 2012. Combined they make a 368-page read. Please note that the Omnibus will be released in March 2013.
And there will be a sequel to this series, “When I'm With You” (Lucien’s & Elise’s story) to be released in 8 weekly installments starting March 3, 2013 (series complete by April 23, 2013).
Since I am a reader in need of a HEA, I made sure I waited to read this series until all installments had been released. I read it in one sitting, thus I will review as a set.
Hero: Ian Noble/British/30 years old/mogul-playboy/$$$$/dark hair/blue eyes/dom
Heroine: Francesca Arno/American/23 years old/student-artist/red-gold hair/brown eyes/innocent
Francesca is a young artist, who entered her painting in a competition held by the billionaire, Ian Noble. She wins the competition and is commissioned to create the centerpiece painting for the lobby of Ian’s new Chicago Skyscraper. The book opens up at the reception held in her honor. Ian and Francesca are introduced and she feels in instant attraction (recognizing he is out of her league) while he is intrigued, but reserved. He knows she is too innocent for the likes of him. Francesca is a bohemian; she is naïve, sweet and kind. She has a strained relationship with her parents, never quite measuring up. She lives with her three male roommates who are very protective of her. Ian, on the other hand, is the rich and extremely successful business mogul; he is enigmatic, worldly, handsome, sexy and oh so dominant and too “corrupted” for her. But there is much more to it, because Ian is full of secrets. For starters: The reception was not their first encounter. Four years prior Francesca had painted “The Cat That Walks By Himself”. There’s a reason why they call it La Petite Mort.
Ian finally succumbs to Francesca’s charms as his power to resist her appeal crumbles spectacularly under the watching eyes of a marble statue of the Goddess of Love, Aphrodite. There’s something very symbolic about what they do, what is lost here against the backdrop of the purity of white marble. It makes for an intensely erotic scene.
Ian is trying hard to get Francesca to adapt to the rules of a traditional D/s relationship but she can be quite the brat and is finding it hard to obey, to answer to Ian as a Master. She’s impulsive and doesn’t want to give up that control. Ian has other ideas and Francesca submits, on her own terms, to her first erotic punishment.
But, Francesca is as fiery as her rose-gold hair and the path ahead looks rocky.

Because You Must Learn is the fourth installment of the series and strangely enough, my least favorite so far. When I say least favorite, I mean least favorite like choosing between brownies and ice cream. Clearly there is no wrong pick, but you still have to pick, right?
Because You Haunt Me ended with Ian and Francesca at the museum and Ian not able to wait any longer to have her.
“I thought I could wait. I can’t,” he muttered, and she heard the harsh regret in his tone. He looked into her face as his hands caressed her thighs and hips, and she felt herself heating the cool marble. “If I don’t taste you now, I think I’ll die. And if I taste you, I won’t be able to stop. I’m going to have to fuck you here and now.”
After waiting for so long we finally get to see the pair give into to each other. As expected, the scene was explosive and hot. What I didn’t expect was what happened at the end. We got to see a moment of true feeling from Ian. True fear, almost, when he pulls out of Francesca at the last-minute even though he was protected. He is so scared of creating a child with her that he left her. I can’t help but wonder if this was foreshadowing?
For the most part this section of the book was about them consummating their relationship. In several ways and many times. Now normally this would be one of my favorite parts of the book. Yes, I have a bit of pervy in me. But it wasn’t this time. I have been so enthralled by the give and take between Ian and Francesca, the psychological aspect of what they are developing, that I was almost wanting the sex to be over so we could get back to that part. Ian is a pretty complicated man and he is struggling. He is so much more in control when it comes to the sexual aspect and I want him to be out of control. I want to see him fight as a mere mortal. Weird, maybe…but I can’t help it.
This was still a very good installment (smokin’ hot) and I look forward to what comes next! So stay tuned!

“The day isn’t over yet, Francesca,” he said, his voice a low, caressing menace, before he turned and walked out of the room.

The vignettes are great and I have been enjoying them but I despise the fact that they are $2 a piece for 2 chapters. Readers will have to spent $16 for all 8 parts of this one tale. Neither Fifty Shades of Grey nor Bared to You was this expensive and the well-known authors of those could command such a price. The thing that irritates me the most is that I suspect the publisher will compile these all into one book eventually...and the price WILL NOT be $16. Ridiculous!

BECAUSE IT'S A RIP-OFF!!! I apologise in advance to those readers who lapped this series up. I cancelled the pre-orders for the rest of the series, and I've even deleted the ones I've got from my library. Why? The stories (sorry, chapters) were getting shorter and shorter, Ian and Francesca seem to be pointlessly going around in circles, and it's pretty much a case of same old, same old. Someone (and I suspect not the author) is making a packet out of this series of 'chapters' and we, dear readers, have fallen for it hook, line and sinker! I'm off to read something from a much better author (Joey Hill, you are a star!), and I'm sorry to say that I will not be buying any more of Beth Kery's e-books.

I am liking this story, but I cannot emphasize enough my dislike for the current trend these days of authors selling stories in installments. I can't think of the right word for it, but the closest one is greedy. And, for me it makes them really difficult to read since I spend almost the entire first half of the installment reacquainting myself with the story and going back to previous ones for the same reason. Thank goodness for friends who share their e-readers on our lunch break or I'd never have read this story.
On the upside though it's done wonders for my book count on the reading challenge. ;)

This week's edition is all about sex and punishment! The kiddie gloves are off and Ian Noble is finally going for what he wants from Beth and boy! *fans self* Francesca was in for a couple of rounds of "power drive."
I really can't say there was any major development in their relationship or in the overall story in these two chapters. We didn't really learn a whole lot other than the fact that Ian has an amazing mouth (is he part snake?) and is pretty damn good with a crop. ;)
Francesca is dealing with her own feelings about the way she reacts to all the BDSM stuff Ian is exposing her to. She should be disgusted by it not turned on, right? She's also finding it hard to deal with that Ian wants to have so much control over her.
I still think she's incredibly naive and Ian very overbearing and at times a bit of an ass. In the book it all seems so glamourized and Ian just comes across as the hottest thing around but if I were to be in a relationship with that guy...someone better have the bail money ready.
I can't wait for the next part of this story!

Oh Holy hottness , Ian is so great , i did not think i was going to like this book but I really hope I would an I did , it's getting better and better and i'm actually enyoing this book... Who knew?

November 14, 2012I was extremely hesitant to pick up this series by Beth Kery because I wasn't a big fan at all of her previous book I read, Wicked Burn.
Needless-to-say I ventured into it with wary hesitation. I was at first relieved that each book was a sort of short story that continues into the next. This was good when I discovered this because I realized that if I didn't like it, I wouldn't feel like I had wasted to much of my time.
Well… I worked through the first one and before I realized it, it was finished and I was opening part 2 and then 3 and then before I even realized I was done with 8.
I really enjoyed this series. It was completely intoxicating and drew me in without me even realizing I was hooked. Until I got the the end of the first part, I was still cautious but as soon as it was finished, I was excited to get to the next part.
Francesca is an amazingly talented artist who wins the prestigious commission to create the centerpiece painting for the grand lobby of Noble’s new Chicago skyscraper. The moment they meet, Ian takes to Francesca. His interest in her is completely out of character for him and so begins the battle within him to either take her or let her free.
This book was in a very slight way similar to Fifty Shades of Grey, but not exactly the same. There were moments where I thought 'ah it's the same that happened in Fifty' and there were moments that I felt were unique to the Because You Are Mine Series. It was not stolen from the popular series, but rather as if it there was no choice but to lead down a similar path.
I also prefer writing to be simple. And by that I mean that the use of describing verbs don't over-shadow the scene. This book contained a number of that and it bugged me out a bit. Other than that it was a great series of short stories that flow into each other. I don't really get why they were split and not just done in one book, since each book is only about 80 pages of so, but anyway.
A great, erotic series exploring the Dom / Sub relationship that's become widely popular at the moment. I enjoyed it.

To be honest, the only reason I can't give this story a solid 5 stars is this frankly stupid 8-part thingy. Too many cliffhangers. No me gusta. The plot is great and there's mystery and it's really easy to be enthralled in it... until a book ends and we have to move on to the next. Oh well.
Back to the plot!
On this fourth installment, Ian succumbs to his desires, under the watchful eye of Aphodite. Pretty symbolic stuff, here. But right on the next day, Francesca has a glimpse of Ian's dominant nature like never before...
But it's not only his dominance she glimpses... it's his hurt, one of his (surely many) fears and insecurities. And also, his protectiveness of her. It's rather endearing how attached he seems to have become to her and how quickly.
I'm glad that Cesca seems determined not to lose herself in the midst of all this passion, that is so unknown to her. Yes, she acquisces to a lot of Ian's demands, but deep down those are things that she wants as well. I liked seeing how she stood her ground when conflict arose. So yeah... that made me like her a whole lot more!
Off to the fifth!

reading this in 2014 is easy, but waiting for each book to come out is so frustrating. just 2 chapters not a pretty enough give away, though i respect that the book announced the release date of the next book.
40 pages of Sencoured, Erotic and eXtreme. you make up the word from the abbriviation.

the musuem experience was so good that fran describe it like that...

then later on the whole thing is cliche from Ian authoritive tone to the traditional BSDM stuffs that writers copy around in their fiction books...
although i loved this cliche line :)

then later on the whole thing is cliche from Ian authoritive tone to the traditional BSDM stuffs that writers copy around in their fiction books...

Wow and OMG. This book is just so erotic that it should top the charts. The first novella Because you Tempt Me was very slow going. I now really do understand the need to set up the plot and introduce the characters. It takes time. So the first novella was not that great but I still gave it 4 stars because the first erotic scene was just so hot. The couple Francesca Arno and Ian Noble are fencing and he being the expert that he is playfully slips his blade under the strap to her tank top and quickly slices through it. Later, once he is very close to her he cannot control his urge to kiss her and then in passion pulls her tank top/bra to expose her breast quickly he covers her breast with his mouth and well you just have to read the first novella and the rest will be history. The whole book is even more descriptive of the BDSM sex scenes.
I joined Goodread this year in April and not until this book have I read and learned more about the devises that are used for sexual pleasure. The book is very descriptive and therefore it is easy to visualize the sexual tools and how they are used and the manner that they help each person achieve the goal of sexual satisfaction. I now have a wish list of items that I will be buying in the near future.

This novella was hotter than any other so far in the series, we have a good sex in a museum and a hot session of pain, plus we got to see a more fragile side of Ian and Francesca became more sure of herself and showed a strong will and able mind.
I’m liking the Paris side more than the first two novellas, because Ian and Francesca from once are talking and trying to understand the other person, plus Ian gave in to his desires and there’s finally some action going on.
Francesca is not following all the rules and things got a little strange for these two, but they handle it really good. The only reason for the 4 starts is how small the book is and that I have to wait for the next two chapters.

Okay, I had these listed as on my kindle, but truth is, they were on my friend’s kindle, and one day at work mine died, and she was kind enough to allow me to hijack hers.
Well, I found this little read, which made me think I could finish it within a few hours. First, let me say it was a struggle to finish at all- the story is short, yes, but so much so, that you can’t really get to know the characters, and I just didn’t think it was relatable.
Not to mention that its like $1.99 … for what, I ask you?!
I say skip this, and just re-read 50 shades, because let’s face it, that’s all anyone can be looking for in a story like this, is a cheap imitation.

The first chapter is Ian and Francesca consumating their lust, finally. It was as hot as I expected it to be. Ian tried so hard to restrain himself, and loved reading his struggle to be gentle.
Second chapter, Francesca goes out for a jog and doesn't tell him. This send him into a rage and Francesca can't tell why. I had to agree with her, this seemed a little silly. Now she begins to wonder if Ian is manipulating her to get what he wants. This sounds more interesting and I want to see this play out.
Waiting a week between installments is annoying, it breaks the flow of the story.

From what I can tell, this is just a novel broken up into 2 chapter segments. Honestly, I would have preferred to just read the whole novel instead of having it broken up.
In this installment we get a small glimpse into what makes Ian tick. You start to feel some sympathy for his character and like Fifty Shades, it relates back to his mother. In this case however, you begin to feel some sympathy towards the mother as well. It was interesting seeing Francesca asserting herself in spite of his anger.

The story of Ian an Francesca is a very good. The authors ability to weave the story flawless. I was impressed with the descriptive words an found myself (I could figure out their meaning) curiosity got me though an looked them up on my iPad. Very impressive
HOWEVER I will NEVER AGAIN purchase a book in this manner

If I hadn't gone to bed so late last night, and therefore started this book... I wouldn't of finished it so late. If I hadn't of finished so late (or looked at the clock) I would of kept going to the next book in the series. Other than not enjoying the location of the first "scene", I enjoyed the book quite a bit. However, I found even hearing about a "crack" in the priceless piece of furniture involved didn't allow me to enjoy as much. I almost found the scene disrepectful.
Hopefully I will read through the next book in the series tonight!!

Things are definitely heating up and even though I told myself I would not be reading the rest of this series till all the installments were released I just couldn't help myself. Ian Noble is definitely one social media mogul that I cannot get enough of. I'm a glutton for kinky and horny men like Ian Noble.

I am loving this series. I knew I should have waited to read this one, which was just released today. Now I'm hanging off a cliff by one hand waiting until I can get my hand on book V next week. Francesca is starting to learn new things about herself & Ian's having a heck of a time keeping control.

**note** This review is being done after reading installments 1-5.****Love the story....wish it were just all in one book though...not sure the point of the little installments. The story is a bit FSOG...so I am hopeful that there will be some twist that will take it in a bit of a different direction.

This man has my blood pressure up! This is not a romance. Maybe I can't do the BDSM, I don't know. This shit is really upsetting me. He seems to not give a damn about her, just what is between her legs. Wants to freaking control her. And we are calling this a romance! This serial is getting better with each installment. Francesca is finding her voice, even though she's still prone to give Ian everything he wants (but who can blame her, we all have one person in our lives that has that effect on us, right?). I was happy to finally get to know a little bit more about Ian's past, although it wasn't much.

One of the hottest erotic books I have read to date! I had to keep turning the pages. Ending was a little disappointing, but everything leading up to it was amazing. I love all the hot scenes between the characters. Excited to see what else this author has to offer. Look forwarding to reading more of your work!
