Ground training is the key to a safe and pleasurable riding experience. Designed for easy reference while working with your horse, this guide can be hung on a post. Riders of all disciplines and skill levels will benefit from these exercises that reinforce good habits and help develop a strong bond between horse and rider.
Very clearly explained guide to groundwork. It starts with step by step basic handling and goes on to cover more advanced exercises. It was easy to read and understand and the drawings were helpful and clear, even though I was reading it on an ereader. Recommended--I especially think it would be helpful for people who don't have a handy trainer or instructor they can ask for help.
Those who do not know me may not know I have a lovely horse, who is most likely permantly lame, meaning he has a hitch in his get along. he also gets bored silly just walking in a circle so i try to make it interesting for him, hence ground poles, which he loves lol This book has alot of interesting exercises he and i can do on the ground at a walk.
This is an excellent manual to have! It goes through, as the title suggests, a lot of different ground exercises but with sketches and step by step instructions. It's an amazingly informative and easy to understand book to constantly revert back to when working with horses!
Good info but more pictures would benefit the reader. This weaves between a green horse or green handler. Difficult to determine which the exercise targeted.
Okay book, not for a horse that has some groundwork done. It is more for a horse that is just starting out. I found some exercises for my 7 year old mare, but not worth the money to buy it. Get it from the library!
