This is a excellent little book. Easy to read and well explained.
What I like about it the most is that the dude who experiments is a active person who knows all about working out and sports performance.

I never believe a dude who is preaching about exercise and nutrition when the dude himself looks like he never did a proper workout in his whole life.
Aka the sickly greenish stick figure look or fat, not buying it. Nutrition regime for sports performance needs to be done by somebody who knows about sports! This is one of the mayor points that convinced me.....

....Because I have a huge fear that I'll shrivel up and die of starvation if I don't eat as soon as I wake up.
....Or that my muscles will deflate and disappear if I dont feed them every 2-3 hours....

I love how he addressed this. This also convinced me that he knows our fear!
...IT also made me laugh hard as hell.
You must realize that you're taking your self way to seriously if you cant laugh hard at your own expense:)

DIRECT QUOTE:

If you’re a fitness-conscious person – whether you graze on small meals throughout the day or eat three squares like clockwork – the thought of fasting for an entire day might scare the hell out of you.

Most active people start to freak out about 4-5 hours after their last meal.

“Somebody sound the alarms! If I don’t eat soon, I’m gonna…”

You’re gonna… what? Explode? Die of starvation? Shrivel up and lose all your muscle mass?

Actually, none of these happen. In fact, you might even lose a little body fat.

END QUOTE

That Sounds familiar?
I recommend you read the book.

If is not for everybody and i dont think its magical, but I do think its a good thing. And if nothing else it can give you a new perspective.

For me, it liberated me. 6-7 little meals a day is like slavery, VERY LIMITING because you're never free to just go and do something, you need to think how long its gonna take? And you need to carry food with you if its going to take "too long" Too long is everything longer than 2-3 hours. Like a stone around your neck! Huge hassle and time consuming!

I simply love all of Dr John Berardi's work.
Been a fan of his writing for many years.

Been interested in intermittent fasting for a while now, after a friend introduced me to the "LeanGains" protocol developed by Martin Berkhaus (funnily enough referenced within this book).

This little read is a fantastic introduction to the concept of Intermittent Fasting and its dietary applications.
Should further detail be required upon completion of the book one can further read up on the subject at www.leangains.com (personal recommendation).

This book leaves you with enough information and motivation to try something new for you and your physique, and it's results are quite possibly extremely effective.

This is a great study on intermittent fasting but also has great insight on how to conduct self-experiments in nutrition.

An interest ebook on the author's experience with different Intermittent Fasting (IF) methods - fasting one day a week, fasting two days a week, 16 hr fast and 8 hours of eating everyday, and modifications to these methods. The author presented a detailed account of his experiences and results on IF. If your are considering IF as a dietary plan I recommend you read this ebook.

Very informative. Intermittent fasting is not a diet, it is a lifestyle.
