Another entertaining book by James Rollins. Starts out in a biohazard lab at Princeton with a genetic scientist dying, then moves to Rome where an archaeologist is killed, then on to Africa where a refugee camp is destroyed along with a Senator's son working there. All three victims have a pagan cross burned into their forehead. The Sigma team is called in to investigate and find out what connects all these events. The search takes them to a peat bog in England, the Roman Coliseum, frozen Norway and finally France looking for the Doomsday Key. I have always liked how James Rollins ties historical events and science into his novels.

This is another good high suspense novel. The familiar characters from previous books are resent and their relationships become fuller. There are new villains and some surprising twists in the story. This was a quick read and hard to put down, like all of this books. I do recommend that they be read in order, although the plots are different and do stand on their own but it helps to have a better understanding of the central characters as they have developed through the previous installments.

I know this author loves to give lots of details to give the reader a broader picture, and I persevered despite its lengthy descriptions (book about 50 pages too long, IMO). Enjoyed the story. Would make a good movie. Maybe that's what James Rollins was hoping. As far as I know, that never happened. However, on a positive note - I will continue to read his books as and when they appear in used book stores.

I always enjoy reading Sigma Force books. This book, like all Sigma Force books, engages you right from the start and keep you engaged. There is a familiar cast of characters, plenty of action, good character development and an intriguing plot.

I just reread these two great stories by Rollins. I enjoy the way he brings factual elements into his books. Technology, historical details, environmental elements - fascinating!

Both of these books were page turners or in my case digital pages. The Doomsday Key takes you to places like Ireland and England looking for a Celtic tie to an old Egpytian legend. I really like they way James Rollins is able to tie what seem very unrelated concepts and ideas into a single focus. Fascinating ending especially for the relationship between Seichan, Grey and Rachael. Leaves you wondering if there will be another opportunity for them later. I really like the search for artifacts and antiquities. Rollins always brings out new and fascinating information so that I am looking to see if a fact is actually true. The Last Oracle was another great read with the location moving to of all places Chernobyl Russia with investigation and non stop action around the concept of extra sensory gifts in autistic savants. You have to read it to fully get the concept of what is being done with these children and how Sigma Force must take the lead to stop ultimate destruction.

Another fun read from Rollins. Read it back to back with Map of Bones...meaning I skipped a book. Still, it stands on its own. Would recommend taking time between Rollins' books as they are pretty similar in pace and content. But, again, for adventure fans, it's a pageturner and thus quick read.

James Rollins delivers another entertaining and well paced thriller. Saints, wasted medieval villages, mystery diseases, miraculous healing, overpopulation and gmo crops all get tied in with fascinating locales. Makes me want to hit the library as well as hop a plane. Looking forward to more reveals in the future of Seichan's back story.

I shouldn't have liked this book. I didn't think it was particularly imaginitive. I did like it though. I thought it was a little goofy. I wrote a comment on it and now I have to go and find it, because comments are not reviews at this site. I really dislike that. It's annoying.

Both storylines were interesting.

Well written and the author obviously did a great deal of research to give strength to his writing; although a bit too 'wordy' at times.
