Wife and I do not have any children but because we are both school teachers we've heard a lot about this book. We bought it and started reading it together but then we couldn't make time together as often as we wanted to so we started fighting over it as to which one of us got to read it alone and when. My wife won and finished it first. After I finished it we talked it over and both agree it's a fun, adventurous story that almost any age would enjoy. We sure did. The various characters supported the protagonist in very delightful ways and that helped the story move from action to action all the way to the end.

This story is not only great for the younger readers, I enjoyed it and I am a grandparent. It wasn't something I expected but while I was reading it I got totally involved. After the first chapter or so I couldn't put it down. I'm telling all my children and the grandkids too. I think Michael Jackson's young daughter will do a wonderful job with the lead character. From what I saw on Ellen's show, she is very grown-up for her age and both the young Lundon (in this story) and Paris (in real life) seem ready to take on the challenges their father's left them.

A whimsical and magical story of adventure as caring humans bond with our planet's creatures of the sea. Our imaginations soared as I read to my daughter while we got lost in the exciting adventure where the ocean creatures came to life. We enjoyed the action from beginning to happy ending. What a wonderful way to open the eyes of our youth and make aware of how important it is to take care of our planet and our ocean. We are all God's creatures.

I bought this book for my granddaughter and ended up getting into the story myself. We fought over who would get the book first each night. She won most of the time. I think she read it twice to my once. We are both waiting for the next book in this series.

I continue to reread this book and it never fails to make me feel bored. It's such a great book and it's a shame we never got to see the movie we were promised to see. Words cannot describe how much I love this book.

Fantasy novel about the love of a family and the strength it brings. A little silly at times, but entertaining none the less.
