When you don’t feel like starting another “deep” book you read something light like a humorous book by a veterinarian. Dr. Brooks started an animal surgery in a small town in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina where everyone knows everyone! He takes care of both large and small animals. We’re with him while he has to castrate a 600 pound sow and doing surgery on a lovable lab and a cantankerous Siamese cat. He is a very compassionate doc and Dad to 3 boys. I gave it a 4 simply because the book just stopped. There was no ending. I hope no pages were left out . A Kindle Unlimited book(free during the Covid-19 crisis.

A Very Daring Man

I love to read by vets and medical doctors. I found Dr Brooks to be more concerned. avoid any potential his patients and much less interested in tooting his own horn. His appreciation of his office staff is very woven into almost every story he tells.I wish he would
F write another book soon.

No respect for the reader

If you can't write, I guess it's not your fault. You could have hired someone to proofread your manuscript, though.
I was annoyed throughout by the boring telling of uninteresting stories, but the mistakes (gas petal, for example) really sent me over the edge.

Ok read

It was an okay book. He probably has a low key personality and that is what came through to me. He also made
some odd choices when he had things to do. The stories weren't really about the animals but about the characters and he didn't bring them to life for me.

I was surprised how much I enjoyed this book. Well worth the time to read. A little modern James Harriet, “All Creatures Great and Small” Dr Brooks sold the town as well, I want to live there!
