I think it might be a bit closer to reality than one might think. Yes, it is fiction, but it isn't uninformed history-at least as far as the writings and rumors of the time could come down to us. Good book-I've reread it several times.

Excellent insight into the lives of the royals. Great period piece.

It is a page turner. I should have given it a 5 rating but did not like the ending. But Ms Gregory stuck to history and life is not always " the bad guy gets his due"
