A guide for young adult librarians and teachers provides profiles of fifty titles, offering information on themes, genres, characters, and discussion questions.
The real meat of this book is the first 22 pages which provides some guidelines and tips for running a teen book discussion group. It references the experiences of several other people who work with teens and I would have liked to hear more about their individual issues and how they resolved them.
The individual book guides are interesting, however with the explosion of YA publishing, the authors focus on contemporary at the time books make the guides feel somewhat dated. Still, having read both Feed and Just Ella I found the guides to be well targeted. I would love to see updates in this style, maybe done in on a blog or some other medium that updates regularly.
