From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Aurora Rose Reynolds comes a steamy romance about what happens when a risk-taker tries to follow the rules.

Jade has always been the reckless type. But after her relationship implodes and her business goes under, she realizes it might be time to change her ways. She decides on a fresh start in a new place: Montana.

But shortly after her arrival in Big Sky Country, she meets headstrong wilderness retreat owner Maverick, whose name, fittingly, means “dissenter.” Jade tries to convince herself he’s not the type of man she needs in her life. The problem is, she wants him in her life. She wants him more than anything.

For Maverick, his attraction to this out-of-towner is undeniable. But he’s sworn off relationships—until he gets to know the fiery-haired, fiery-tempered Jade. He can’t help but wonder if it’s worth opening himself up to her. It’s a gamble, sure. But is it reckless?

Or is love a high-stakes game of risk and reward that just might pay off in the end?

2.5 Childless Shaming Stars

Meh, this was ok. I go in to these AAR books now knowing what I’m getting; a sickly sweet, instalove story that is full of stereotypes and misogynistic garbage. As long as you resign yourself to that, these can be ok. They don’t put you on a roller coaster of emotions, they are more like the slow, often frustrating, swan boat ride. You know, the ride where you get in a giant swan and use a tiny lever to try to steer the boat around, it never quite goes as well as you want it to, but you get off no worse for wear.
That was this book. Maverick was meh, alpha, brooding etc. Jade was meh, stupid, damsel in distress etc. Same old same old.
There was some unresearched overly optimistic bullshit of Jade opening a bookstore when she was near destitute and with no business plan, small business loan, or any capital whatsoever. Yet she manages to make her first monthly projections within four days...so ya, we can all tell that Ms. Reynolds has no business degree. Frankly, I doubt she has much in the way of education, even for basic writing, as she only seems to write present tense, stream of consciousness, first person POV, which I think might be the least sophisticated type of writing there is. Anyway these books are basically written for bored housewives who need validation on their life choices.... sorry, a little reverse misogyny from me there, I do apologize, but I think the world beats up on stay at home moms and these books make them feel ok. That’s fine....good for you. But for me, I’m going to need to stop reading these. I was going to before but then I saw that this was the last in the series and they left Maverick at sort of a cliff hanger in the last one. But too bad for anyone wanting to know why he was so concerned with that camper/client in the last book, that storyline seems to have been completely abandoned and never spoken of again. Anyway this wasn’t great but it wasn’t the worst.
If you are a person who has chosen to be childless however you will feel called out and shamed by this book. The hero doesn’t want children, decided that long ago, but the author has us believe it was because he was damaged and/or hadn’t found the right person yet and that his HEA in fact does include children and he was so so wrong to think that it shouldn’t. So ya.... non breeders, avoid this one.

Another cute story in Aurora Rose Reynold’s ‘Adventures in Love’ series. Reckless is the story of Cybil’s best friend, Jade, and Maverick- who is Tanner’s friend. Jade is new in town and wants a fresh start. Maverick doesn’t do relationships but really likes Jade. This one was a little on the short side and I felt like it was missing some of the plot- if it was longer and more well developed I could have seen myself loving it. Overall, it was a good read and if you’re looking for something short and sweet I would recommend.

Jade has always had a reputation for being reckless, but after a string of bad luck everything in her life begins to fall apart. She's in desperate need of a fresh start so she heads from her home in Oregon to Montana where she will temporarily be staying. While trying to get to her best friend Cybil's house she gets stuck in a blizzard. She's trapped on the highway in the middle of a snowstorm when a gorgeous man comes to her rescue. Maverick is a wilderness retreat owner. She's only met him a couple times, and is quickly reminded how seriously beautiful he is. He's the best friend of Cybil's husband, so she should probably steer clear of him. She has a horrible track record when it comes to dating, but she can't deny their mutual attraction. As a crush intensifies will they complicate things by getting involved, and risk it all for love?

Reckless by Aurora Rose Reynolds is the third and final book in the Adventures in Love series. It's a sweet, standalone, small town, friends to lovers romance with a swoony, sexy alpha and his feisty, beautiful redhead. It's about friendship, undeniable connections, and amazing chemistry. I really loved this story and these characters. This was my first book in this series, and I can't wait to read the others! <333

I love this small town series and this one was pretty good it had moments where I shook my head and rolled my eyes at Mav. I was also confused why he had this sad puppy lost look in book 2 with someone name Ozzie? and now falling for Jade? Did Aurora change couples?

Jade had a tough time she lost her job, home and ex who screwed her over so now she's moving to a new town and her bestie is helping her. But mother nature causes problems and she's stuck que Maverick to the rescue the first moments was already tension between the two but Maverick was a cool guy alil Alpha but not fully. Right from the start he put up those walls because of his past. And as for Jade she had her walls up because of her trauma with exs or men.

Maverick did throw some mix signals that had Jade frustrated and myself to. He crashed her date which was horrible. And he slowly wanted more and didn't wanna fight the attraction anymore. But even if things were going good he did pull away near the end when the voice what they wanted about their future and glad at that moment Jade didnt settle good for her. Glad his friends and sister told him to get his head out his ass and fight for his woman.

Low angst, Tiny om drama no ow, no cheating, secondary character, sexy times, no virgins

This is a sweet low-angst, small town romance. Not really sure why the book is titled “Reckless" possibly because Jade takes another chance on a man after she's been hurt before? This book read like plain vanilla ice cream, it wasn't bad, it somewhat hit the spot, but there wasn't a whole lot going on. In all honestly, it was a little boring. Insta-love but kinda a slow burn in terms of actual relationship.

It was nice to revisit the characters from books one and two, and I enjoyed all those friendship dynamics. Overall, a decent read, but left me wanting something more...with different flavors, and possibly sprinkles.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC!

This was okay. I did enjoy it, but then the third act conflict ruined it a bit for me. But the epilogue made up for it, so... 🤷‍♀️

Jade's business closed, and her ex screwed her over. So she needed to start afresh, and she wanted to do that in her best friend's town. She went there but got stranded along the way in a snowstorm. Then Maverick picked her up, and she stayed at his home for two days until the storm passed. They've been around each other, seeing as their best friends are married (book 1 MCs), but they don't really talk that much.

Anyway, this incident started as a way for them to become friends as well. I would say this has a medium burn because they were purely platonic in the first half of the story. Jade's history with dating kind of made her wary of starting anything with Mav, and Mav doesn't do serious relationship thanks to his mommy issues.

Anyway, Jade went on a date with OM (they're still friends atp), and Mav found out about this. So he subtly invited the girlfriend of his other best friend to the restaurant where Jade's supposed to meet the guy, he's definitely stalking her. 😂 It turns out the OM is freaking married, and before this night ended, Mav kissed Jade for the first time, and this started their secret FWB relationship. They didn't put a label on it, even though they're exclusive.

While Mav did mention in the beginning that he's never going to get married, I hoped that, in due time, he'd change his mind about this. They're both slowly falling for one another, and it was very obvious to everyone around them (after they outed they've been seeing each other for awhile) But the conflict happened when they attended a friend's wedding, and Jade told him that she wants to get married and have kids someday, not particularly with him but more like a general thought. Then Mav told her the next day that he didn't want those things.

I have to say that I'm so freaking proud of Jade at this moment because she prioritized what she wanted and didn't settle for anything less. She ended their situationship and although it freaking broke her heart, she knew she deserved so much better. 🥹 How I wish some MCs would hold their ground like this. 😮‍💨

Then four days passed, and they're both miserable, but Jade still maintains her stand. Then Mav's sister intervened and told him to get his sh*t together and don't let the best thing happen to his life slip through his fingers.

Was I expecting some grand gesture? For some reason, yes, although I know his fxcked up wasn't that awful, I still felt like he should've done more to make up for crushing Jade's heart and dreams. So him going to her workplace, saying he lied, apologizing for what he said, and saying that he's willing to get married and have kids, but only with her, isn't doing it for me.

Idk, but it felt insincere, and I don't think it's believable for people to have a 180 about marriage and children within a few days. However, he said in his POV that he knew deep down he wanted the same things, but his parents' dysfunctional relationship messed up his view about those things. 🥲 I know that this is true, but the way he apologized and explained didn't feel heartfelt, at least to me. 🤷‍♀️

On the other hand, I don't think there's anything wrong with not having kids. Society shouldn't make a person feel less if they choose not to bring a child into this world. People should learn to accept this stance. Some folks aren't just made for parenthood, and that's totally fine. 😮‍💨

Anyway, back to the story, it was heartbreaking to read Jade's POV in that scene and reading her pain made me sad that Mav turned out to be just another of those men who entered her life and let her down. I hoped he'd be different. 😩

Anyhoo, since she's understanding, she gave him another chance right then and there. The epilogue was three years later; they're already married with a son, and Jade's a surrogate for their best friends. It was enjoyable for the most part, but I didn't love the conflict, and I could do without that. Setting aside my issue, this is still a good read nonetheless.

This series has been such a delight to read and Reckless was no exception. While I don’t always love fast-paced romances, it was impossible not to love the way Maverick and Jade sort of fell together so effortlessly.

I loved Maverick’s alpha protective tendencies and the way that, once he decided to go “all-in”, he went all the way in and swept Jade (and basically me) off her feet. I loved Jade for him. I loved Jade, period. I loved how relatable and strong she was and how sort of…functional their whole relationship was. It was relatively low-angst, but riddled with chemistry and banter that had my heart aflutter for nearly the entire story.

This has been such a fun ride, and this was the perfect, satisfying ending to this series. This was the first I’ve ever read by this author, but I’ll be handing my heart over for more in the future! ~ Shelly, 4 Stars

Reckless is a little edgier than the first two books. My main thought with the first two couples were how sweet and low angst they were. With Maverick and Jada's story, we get a bit of angst and uncertainty with this couple. Both Maverick and Jada are dealing with trust issues that leave them struggling to open up to each other. What I love about this author is that she doesn't usually make the angst overwhelm the story and you still get to enjoy them as a couple. If I had one complaint, it would just be that I felt this couple needed more pages to flesh out their relationship. I think with the kind of issues they had, I really wanted to see more time spent with them growing together. I still really enjoyed this couple and have loved this whole series. The epilogues were so sweet.

Another dreamy adventure from the charming Aurora Rose Reynolds. I'm loving this series- such a great, low angst, sweet escape. And I love how quick and easy they are to read- the romance is fast paced, sugary sweet, and with the right amount of spice.

Jade and Maverick fall into each other so easily and sweetly. And I loved both of these characters. We have ARR's alpha swoony hero, a total dreamy guy who falls and falls hard. And I adored Jade as a heroine. She's sweet, she's thoughtful, she's strong, and she's lovable. The romance is super consumable between them- made easy thanks to a lower angst/drama storyline.

An enjoyable read in this Adventures world- loving easy delightful moment.

I think I read a different book from everyone else. I didn’t have a good impression of Jade from the start. And sadly, I didn’t grow to like her as the story developed. I wanted her to have more gumption and grit and sass. Instead I got more of a doormat/pushover kind of vibe from her.

Maverick (for all the intensity he showed in the past two books) was not the endearingly intense alpha I thought he’d bell either. Yes he seems hot. But dang, his actions made me question his smarts. Especially towards the back half of the book.

Sorry to any fans. This story just wasn’t my cup of tea.

This was my first book by Aurora Rose Reynolds and it all felt a little “whelming”—not over or underwhelming it was just… Eh? I think this might have more to do with my personal preference than it has to do with the book, but it's also been a few days since I’ve finished it and it hasn’t really stuck with me in any way. Despite being an ‘instalove’ romance, there were some sweet and heartwarming moments between Jade and Maverick, plus, this friend group was pretty fun and the setting was beautiful. Overall, it wasn’t a bad read and I think that if you’re looking for something low-angst and easy to read this makes a good ‘palate cleanser’ between books. I know many others have and will enjoy it but I think perhaps it just wasn’t for me. 2.5 stars rounded up.

Now that I’m thinking about it, I’m surprised to realise that this romance didn’t really use any conventional tropes and that’s not a bad thing. Jade and Maverick knew each other through their best friends and there were no antagonistic vibes towards each other or any other particularly tense or angsty moments that you’d find with friends-to-lovers. The story is told mostly from Jade’s POV with a few chapters from Maverick’s POV sprinkled in so we knew from the beginning that they have always found each other attractive. I’m not particularly fond of the instalove trope but it wasn’t too over the top in this one when their attraction turns to instalove, I just think I had a hard time believing it because there’s a lot more tell than show which made it difficult to feel their chemistry. I guess I can’t expect too much when it’s a fairly short read at just over 200 pages but I wanted just a little bit more!

There’s definitely ease and comfort between them that I did like. Sometimes you just meet someone and it clicks (not talking about love here) and every moment with that person brings you comfort and makes you feel cherished and happy. It was clear Jade and Maverick had that kind of thing going on—it wasn’t just about sex, it was about comfort and I liked that. This also has a bit more of the domestic side of couple life and I do like romances with that in it—seeing Maverick take care of Jade was swoony and it was during those moments that we’d see them get to know each other and I wanted MORE of these moments! I wanted to learn about what drives them, what they feel passionate about, etc. It would’ve added more spark to their chemistry which I think was sorely needed!

This leads me back to the feeling of this being more tell than show. Maverick honestly felt pretty underdeveloped—he had shoddy parents, and his sister ended up being more mum than a sibling to him, but other than that he literally just appears and disappears from Jade’s life at random and since we get so few chapters from his POV, it all felt a bit underdone to me. It was admittedly also a little weird at first when he just randomly shows up at her house and inserts himself into her space? It's not as if she didn't want him around but it just felt a tad aggressive which I guess fits his “alpha” personality but it was just odd at first, lol? I guess he did eventually grow on me but he took some getting used to!

Another thing I have to mention is that the title really didn’t fit the story—there was nothing reckless about it or about Jade’s character. In fact, I would go so far as to say this is probably one of the more “subdued” romances I’ve ever read. We’re told that Jade has a tendency to be reckless but we see none of that in this book or with this romance—other than the fact it’s instalove which… I mean, is that reckless? I personally didn’t feel the “high stakes” of their love and neither did I feel invested in whether or not they’d work out even though as a romance there’s obviously a HEA. Overall, as I mentioned before, I think this romance just wasn’t for me and I’m sure that this author’s romances are for me but I’m glad I gave it a try and I always enjoy trying new authors. I went into Reckless with low expectations, which turned out to be a good thing. While all in all, this is a pretty good story; it was the romance that ultimately left me disappointed in the book. While I liked reading Jade's POV, I also enjoyed Maverick's POV quite a lot and hated that we got to see so less for him. Jade was a wonderful character individually and so was Maverick. From the synopsis, I thought it would be more of a slowburn tale, but the romance between the two leads developed quite fast.

I would have loved to see more scenes of them just being friends and a slower buildup to their attraction for each other. Unfortunately, due to the relatively fast development, I could not see much chemistry between Jade and Maverick. While I enjoyed their *spicy* scenes, I feel like I would have enjoyed this more if (again), there was more development to their friendship and then relationship.

While I may not have enjoyed this, I think Reckless is a book that other people will love and enjoy, for it is a lighthearted fun read, once that will leave you smiling.

The Adventures in Love Series is everything I love in a series. Each story stands on its own. I of course have a favorite and it is absolutely Reckless!
Both these characters bring some big feels. Jade was so significant in her worries, her joy, her heartache, her insecurities, and her love.

Jade did not allow the ruins of her old life to steal her dreams. She was willing to put in the work and start over. Maverick was drawn to Jade, and he was honest with her, and I respect him so much for that, I wanted to kick him, but respect. This story had unexpected emotions and deep feels I was not prepared for, but this is why I will always come back to any story that Aurora Rose Reynolds writes.

This series is everything that is great about romance. Friends loving each other, shenanigans and characters that bring some big feels. The mutual acceptance and support of each other is something that ARR does so well. Adventures is Love is the type of story you will come back to over and over hoping for more time with them.

Jade and Maverick's story is the third installment in the Adventures in Love series, I enjoyed this romance, it was sweet and emotional, with little angst but overall, I loved how they deal with their pasts, their interactions and how they had to finde their way to be together in the future. This small town romance is great for anyone that loves this trope ARR did a terrific writing, this world she created is swoony and one you would like to immerse yourself in.

Jade is heading to Montana to start over with her life after things ended in a relationship and she lost her business. Maverick is the last single one in his group of friends and he is really closed off when it comes to relationships.

Jade and Maverick have met before considering their best friends are married to each other. They have a connection with each other and from the start of the book you can feel the chemistry between them. However, with Maverick being closed off to relationships, Jade not wanting to get into any relationship, and wanting to avoid any awkwardness in their friend group.

I loved Jade and Maverick. I loved seeing their relationship progress, though it was quick nothing felt unnatural. There is a level of comfort between them that allows them to both slowly let the other one in more and more over time.

This was just an overall sweet, low angst read. Plus, the epilogue was just a great wrap up to the entire series.

If you’re looking for a small town, friends to lovers romance this is one to check out.

An other pefect cozy read!

"Reckless" is the third and last book of the Adventures in Love Series by Aurora Rose Reynolds. You can read the book without reading the first and second book first, but I recommend that you read the sequel before the last.

I'm a little sad that "Reckless" is the last book in the series and we already have to say goodbye to Jade, Maverick, Cybill and the others. "Reckless" is a small town romance with a great atmosphere. If you are looking for a story full of drama, you won't find it here. Jade and Maverick's story is a quiet and sweet story with no drama.

Maverick and Jade are a really good match for each other! Maverick, as you would expect from an Aurora Rose Reynolds hero, has slight alpha tendencies and I love how he treats her. Maverick had a bad childhood and was practically raised by his sister. He is friendly and very charismatic. I really like his whole personality!

I love what Jade has done with her new beginning. She has built something new for herself and has come out of her shell a bit, even if she is more of a couch potato like me!

From me "Reckless" gets 4 out of 5 stars.

This was cute with pretty low angst. I'd recommend reading the first two books before this, as the other couples are in this a lot. Which I loved seeing how they're doing. Jade is new in town but they all just welcome her right into the group, especially Maverick who is so sweet on her. The transition to more with them is pretty painless until near the end, but it all works out. I loved Maverick's dirty talk, and this was a good easy love story.

This was a really nice introduction to this series. What a pity it's not the first! However, I'm sold and I'll be going back to read the others in this series.

This was a sweet, quick read with characters that are interesting and worthy a few hours of a reader's time.

I'm not sure the title really embodies the story though as there is little that is reckless in Jade and Maverick's journey to HEA.

Jade and Maverick's story, like most of Aurora's, gave us a little of every in the feels.

Neither Jade nor Maverick have the best dating history or love lives, and their both a little jaded. Makes for a great combination for romance, right?...

Absolutely.

The chemistry between the characters is undeniable. But that's not enough because they had work to do on themselves as well as together. Their journey wasn't easy, and I do feel like the end was a little rushed, but for the most part, I enjoy them.

A little sweet, a little drama, and some real deliciously dirty shenanigans. It hit the sweet spot for sure and is definitely a pallet cleanser read for me.

This is the final book in the Adventures in Love series, and it’s a sweet, fast-paced romance that finishes off the series really nicely.

Jade was introduced in the first book of the series, Rushed, as the best friend of heroine, Cybil. Jade’s life in Oregon has just imploded and she’s desperate for a fresh start, so she decides to pack up and move to Montana to be near her best friend. And when she runs into trouble on the roads on the way there, she gets help from sexy mountain man, Maverick.

Maverick is the third of three best friends that run a wilderness retreat in Montana. He’s watched his two best friends meet women and fall in hard and fast love, and while he’s happy for them, it’s not what he wants for his own life. So when he dives in to help Jade when she moves to town, he wasn’t expecting to feel anything for her. But attraction quickly blossoms and though they both try to ignore it, neither of them wanting to start anything, the chemistry is too strong to fight.

I really liked Jade as a character. She’s smart, sensible and relatable, and is figuring herself out while bravely taking huge steps forward in her life. And like his friends before him, Maverick is the kind of man who takes what he wants. He’s a gentleman of course, but he’s very alpha about it, and when he decides to actually take the plunge with Jade, he’s all in from the very beginning. It’s sweet and sexy, and just the kind of functional, no-game-playing romance that I love from Aurora Rose Reynolds.

While they are finding their way together, Maverick’s group of friends dive in to help Jade get settled and set up with a new business, and I enjoyed watching that all come together for her. But not everything is straightforward, Jade and Maverick have different ideas about what they want from a relationship, and there’s a bit of soul-searching as they figure out what they mean to each other and what that means for the future. There is some drama, but it’s short-lived, and I loved watching them figure it all out.

Characters from the previous books are a big part of the story, and it was so nice to catch up with where they are at. There’s also an epilogue which finishes off everybody’s stories really nicely, providing great closure for the series.

This is a really sweet read. It’s a quick one, so there’s not the time to develop the kind of depth I prefer in a romance, but still a fun, angst-free read.

3.5 stars.

The third book in the Adventures in Love series is one that will touch your heart in such a special way. Maverick and Jade have both been damaged by love and this has these two doubting every step of the way and at times running scared. The chemistry and connection between these two is intense and one that radiates off the pages. Their story is drama filled and one that will not only make you smile and laugh but it will also make your heart hurt and tears will flow. As Maverick learns that sometimes love is not something to shy away from he will have to fight the damage that he has done in order to finally have the future he really does crave. A beautiful love story that will leave your heart overflowing with happiness.

4.5 Stars!

I absolutely adored this book! After just coming off a reading a really heavy read, I was looking for something light and filled with romance, and Reckless was just what the doctor ordered.

When we first meet up with Jade, Jade is fresh off a disastrous relationship and has found herself homeless and without a job. She’s headed to Montana looking for a fresh start. But what she didn’t plan on was Maverick. Despite the obvious chemistry between the two of them, Jade has convinced herself that they could only be friends. But the more time they spend with one another, the more Jade questions herself. Will Jade and Maverick take a chance on love or are they destined to remain friends? There’s only one way to find out…

Reckless is a fast-paced second-chance romance filled with the insta-love/instant chemistry that we’ve come to know and love from this author. This story is filled with depth, angst, and uncertainty. The characters are perfectly imperfect and deserved not just a second chance in life, but in love as well.

I loved the angst and uncertainty. Jade was looking for a fresh start and men were nowhere on her radar, but Maverick was a force to be reckoned with. Their chemistry was instant and despite their better judgment, neither character was about to let what was happening with them pass by. I just loved watching these two characters fall.

If I had one complaint, it would be that the ending felt a bit rushed. While I couldn’t have been happier with the outcome of this story, I just felt like with all of the angst and heartache, we could have seen Maverick grovel just a little bit more.

Reckless is a fantastic small-town, second-chance romance. I loved the characters and the secondary ones as well. I loved how accepting everyone was of Jade and how willing they were to help her. Jade and Maverick’s story gave me all the feels and delivered delicious angst and romance, but kept the drama on the light side. Ultimately, this was a great book to spend my day getting lost in.

Note: This review is for an ARC and is my unbiased opinion.

Thank goodness Aurora Rose Reynolds paired up Maverick with Jade! I loved how their story began. I could feel the chemistry and connection between them from the very start. Their characters meshed in the best way.

Maverick was the alpha type of personality I have come to expect from ARR's male characters, but he was that in an understated sort of way. He had some deep scars from his past that made him who he was. Jade had new scars she was dealing with from some recent poor choices and a parental health scare. She was a strong woman who learned from her mistakes and made some decisions I greatly respected. Both were characters I adored and wanted to be together.

What I loved most about this book was getting the moments when Maverick and Jade got to know each other by doing normal dating things. There was still kind of the instant love vibe that I expect from ARR, but there was a slower build up to it with the almost the first entire half of the book being Maverick and Jade spending time together. Their romance was sweet, even with the bumps they faced.

Those bumps... The biggest one had me conflicted. I liked how it was handled. The decisions the characters made at that point were good ones. It did have me pausing for a minute thinking about Maverick for a minute, but only because I wanted to make sure everything felt true to his character. I was glad that it did because I enjoyed this love story. I would say it's my favorite in the series so far.

Oh, and I just want to say I hope this series isn't over yet. I know we've kind of got pieces of Margret and Mason's story throughout the series so far, but I would still love them to get their own book. I also wouldn't mind Ken's ex getting her own story as well.
