This book was recommended to me by a colleague, and after I looked at hers, I had to get a copy of my own! This is a resource I used to guide the teaching in my classroom the moment I read it. It takes writing lessons that I'm already doing, but helps me hone in on the purpose of my lesson in order to fine tune what I'm doing and get the most bang for my buck. For example, my second graders write about their weekend every Monday. In this book, the author suggests using that opportunity as a mini lesson to really teach children to be more effective writers, rather than let them make laundry lists of what they've done over the weekend. By focusing on a specific element, such as dialogue, their weekend web writing can become a better piece of writing where students practice perfecting a specific writing skill. Simple, yet brilliant ideas!

Si ets tutora de primària i no te convenç emprar llibre de text... Si vols millorar, si vols disfrutar de fer classes. Si vols tenir alumnes escriptors.... has de llegir aquest llibre. Un llibre que fa ganes de ser mestre, d´entrar a l´aula i canviar-ho tot. Pràctic i útil, aporta seqüències didàctiques d´escriptura de diversos gèneres i tipologies. Aporta la possibilitat de fer el pas de treballar la llengua com una matèria a treballar-la com una competència.
