This book completes Her Gentle Giant. A Siren Erotic Romance
Heather Rainier lives and writes in South Central Texas. Her stories offer up the content of her fantasies, with humor, tragedy, and triumph mixed in.
Heather's love of romance fiction began as a teenager when her mom gave her copies of Kathleen Woodiwiss's "The Flame and the Flower" and Bertrice Small's "Skye O'Malley". To this day she's pretty sure that was her mom's version of the "birds and the bees" talk.
Heather writes the type of novel she loves to read: More erotic and edgy than the mainstream, with plenty of sweet romance mixed in and a happily ever after guaranteed. Heather's favorite type of hero is the gentle, lovable giant but readers will discover a wide variety of heroes and alphas on the pages of her novels.
When not at her keyboard, Heather is usually busy corralling her teenagers, or loving on her smokin' hot husband, who thankfully loves to cook.

Miss Rainier is a well written author, but she has yet to learn the definition of the word "abridged". While the composition of the story is well written, she relishes in the every day details that are unnecessary for the reader and only tend to bog down the story. I look forward to her leaning that brevity is not the same as summary.
I feel like this book was split into 2, the first half felt like a commercial for Hips and Curves. The women talked about it every other pages and each time they would gush about it. It made me wonder if the author is a large stockholder. The second half was filled with lots of sex. I know that sounds funny considering that this book is an erotica one, but there comes a point when it is too much. It felt like things went from one sex scene to another with only 1-2 pages of non sex, the story not really anything. I also felt like so much of this one was a copy of what happened with Grace and her men, just insert Eli and Rachel. I will check out the next book, but it will be a make or break book for me in the series, which will be a shame, because I wanted to read the ones with the Lusty TX series cross over, but not sure I can keep reading til I get there.
This was a good romance, but it just had too many sex scenes, which I just started skimming over. Seemed like it just went on forever, but not much happened besides sex... sheesh! A certain amount of that if fine, but this just became a bore. This is a 2-part novel, and it could have been easily half as long.
I also noticed that the character of Grace, from 'Divine Grace' became a control-freak, spending money like water and being involved in everything that happened (generally running the show). (Reminded me of Mel in the 'Virgin River' series).
I have one more part of the 'Divine Creek Ranch' series left, 'Heavenly Angel'. That is the story of Angel and Teresa.
Slower drawn out ending to this story as per the first one. More disappointing vigilante justice that must make someone feel better but just makes me think less of the characters involved. A little repetitive to the first story as well.
A continuation of the love affair between Rachel Lopez and Eli Wolf, citizens of Divine. It is unusual in that the conflict in the story is never really between the lovers--the author doesn't seem to want to go that route--but in their own inner struggles and the outside forces that try to keep them from moving forward. Rachel and Eli are characters introduced in Ms Rainier's first novel--Divine Grace--and Grace is also a player in this book as well although not at the heroine. Ms Rainier seems to have populated her stories with some very real and human characters with the same kinds of problems we all may face from time to time. It is a community with gracious and kind-hearted people as well as nasty, critical, self-serving people. It is a very erotic novel--a full-length novel, would you believe--with lots of sizzle. But under all the eroticism is a foundation of deep regard, generous love and friendship, and the kind of loving connection between Rachel and Eli that any of us would want to experience. Eli is an Alpha male that does not see weakness in caring for his lady and putting her welfare first. Nice to see that, even if it is fiction.
Another looonnnnggg story. And no real conflicts. Rachel gets over her jealousy problem fairly quickly after a momentary freak-out involving his sister. After that, she smashes it down like she's had years of therapy. Eli is just a tall drink of hunk. He loves her with everything he has. On top of that, he is a well-oiled machine in the sack.
I'd like to place an order for my own Eli.
This story, broken into two parts, is just too long. After Rachel recovers from her accident, nothing of real consequence happens. Just lots of sex. Lots of it. And a wedding. And more sex.
Objectively, I can say that this story is well written. Subjectively, I could say that it could all be said in a lot less words. It can be a bit too much for someone like me who has a short attention span.
2.5 Stars As much as enjoyed Eli and Rachel's story from book #2, this book just dragged on for too LONG! Rachel's history of her first sexual encounter was dealt with briefly, but not to the extent I was expecting. (I thought it would be the focus of their extended story). It was "lame" and thought it could have been handled better.
The SEX was smokin HOT...but like the rest of the story, too much into the details and not enough reason to extend their story for another 260+ pages! I liked that previous characters from book #1 play such a HUGE part in the story and that up-coming characters from future books are mentioned.
Part 1 and Part 2 about Rachel and Eli really should have been just one book. It just dragged for me and got kinda old. A little bit of story and then hot bunny sex, repeat, over and over again. Don't get me wrong, I like to read about hot sex, but come on. Excuse the pun. LOL
These books are soooooo long! Not outstanding by any means and the story line could be cut in half. No need for this to have been a second part to the first.. First part 800 pages and the second 900 NO NEED FOR 1700 PAGE BOOK!
Read many years ago but lost my books in a house move. Rereading in the box set. Liked both Eli and Rachel, they were a good fit. I remember why I don’t reread this series very often. Way too much sex that detracts from the characters stories. A fair bit of overlapping timeline wise with book one and once again full of every day trivial filler I did not need. Every song and artist is named, drives me nutty. Way too much time spent with Grace and her men from book one. At least two chapters were about them. WTH? They have had their story; I don’t want, nor need, more sexy times with them. They had enough in their own book. I prefer the later books in this series as they are not so full of filler and feature more on the characters. Pity about that sleaze Reece. He got off lightly.
This is Eli and Rachel's conclusion to a two-part sequel. They finally get married, and this book has a lot of steamy scenes between the two. It is a sizzling story filled with a lot of hot drama between two dynamic characters that kept me glued to the pages.
I love the conclusion of this wonderful love story, but I won't keep this long.
Rachel finally confessed how awful her first time sexperience was and Eli was resolved to avenge her. With the help of friends and the right connections, the SOB was put away.
The wedding before Christmas is happening as predicted, and Grace and Kelly (Eli's little sister) is having fun with the wedding arrangements. Rachel's father is paying for it and he really made an investment for it. The stories about her younger years dating and the guys were hilarious.
Rachel's jealous nature backfired on her on this one but it was quickly resolved. Eli is really sweet as always and I forgot to mention in my review for the first book how touched I was when Eli took good care of her when she was recovering from the car accident. Now THAT is true love.
Sex scenes were all hot especially with the toys and what differentiates it from porn is the characters' passionate love for each other. It was beautiful between them.
This is the second half of Rachel and Eli's story and I just loved it.
I know others say that Divine sounds flowery, and that people don't talk the way they do in these books, but .... SO WHAT!! Does it really matter?.... NO, it doesn't. This is a series to get lost in, and revisit time and time again. I know I do, from the beginning through to the end of each and every book. So, lighten up and escape to Divine for a while....
Well done, Heather for another wonderful tale of the residents of Divine. It's great getting to know them all as the series progresses. Thanks for writing these books and building this wonderful little town.
At the beginning of the book I was going to rate the story a solid 4 stars for the great continuation of Eli and Rachel's story-filled with details and love. However I began noticing Ms. Rainier's music selections and listening to each one as they were being played in the story and completely fell in love with the music that she had chosen to represent their trajectory. I'm so grateful to Ms. Rainier for introducing me to fantastic new songs and artists. Can't wait to keep reading the Divine Creek Ranch stories.
Part 2 of Her Gentle Giant picks up with Eli proposing to Rachel and the planning of their wedding. You do find out something about Rachel that was hinted to in the first book and Eli the epitome of the protector is quick in his action.
I thought this was romantic, you get some of the Grace-Ethan-Adam-Jack story that fills in the pages. I wish it had been one book and not split into two, but alas it was two.
I have been reading romance novels for about 35 years and I have to say, Her Gentle Giant, Part 1&2 has got to be the best romance novel I have read. The story is so engaging it will keep you turning the pages. I laughed, cried, got angry and sighed with happiness all in this one book. Although, the first book in this series (Divine Grace) has a special place in my heart, I think Her Gentle Giant 1&2 is my all-time favorite book!
Have to say this is one of the sweetest stories I have ever read. From beginning to end of book two was just awesome. If you need something "light" yet super sexy this is the book and really series for you!
I adored Eli! He's definitely a gentle giant :) And how he takes care of Rachel after her accident. And how he deals with her jealousy. Both parts should be made into one whole book though, it doesn't really seemed worth it! Anyhoo, it wasn't amazing nor memorable but still a good read nontheless.
This novel picks up where Part 1 left off. As Rachel has to face a traumatic event from her past new characters are introduced along with duct tape underwear. My only complaint is the over liberal use of italics. After a while, it became a distraction
What can I say, this story is one of the greatest Love stories I've ever read. The emotions Ms. Heather brings to life are outstanding. Divine Creek Ranch series will keep you coming back!!
Nothing happens in this book. Seriously. Nothing. No drama. No conflict. No jealousy issues. No outside conflict. Nothing. It was a waste of both my time and money.
