Seanna’s newfound dream becomes a nightmare as a plague of death falls upon her family and friends. As the body count rises, her collection of black butterflies grows. With increasingly vivid nightmares, and the color fading from her eyes, Seanna suspects the man of her dreams is the one destroying her life. Never sure if she is awake or dreaming, she struggles to find the truth. Samuel might succeed in creating another immortal, but can he survive Seanna’s wrath.
Sandra R. Campbell lives along the tranquil waters of the Chesapeake Bay with her husband. She can trace her passion for the macabre back to reading Edgar Allen Poe as a child, with her pet crow by her side. She has since submerged herself in a wide range of dark literature. An avid thrill seeker, Sandra is always looking for her next big adrenaline rush, and when spelunking, diving and monster hunting fails to deliver, she turns to the creation of through-the-rabbit-hole worlds and sends her characters on their own adventures.

Butterfly Harvest (Special Edition) by Sandra Campbell is a book that is a great paranormal creative thriller. It will grab you at the beginning and keep you glued to your seat until you finished reading it. The pages will turn and turn and turn some more. It is about Seanne who is a troubled teen living in an abusive household. She meets Samuel who is an amazing whole new species of some sort. In someway he is tied to Seanne. He gives her a black butterfly and she loves it. But each time she gets one, death follows. Seanne begins a quest to discover on why, how and what she has become or is becoming. This is Seanne's coming of age story and her search of the truth is an adventurous journey with many discoveries. ***** Cliffhanger ***** But never fear a sequel is coming soon. This book is a great read for young adults and adults. I gave it 5 stars but it deserves many more. I highly recommend it to all. I look for more from Sandra Campbell.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I truly felt that Butterfly Harvest is a captivating paranormal read. I enjoyed the story and applaud Ms. Campbell for the original twist to this genre. Where the story fell a little flat for me was in the defining line, or lack there of, between Seanna's dreams and her reality. Though I think this was a chosen writing style, it left me looking for clarity. I also found Seanna's character development to be lacking. I realize that she is just 16 years old, but she was chosen to become the mate of an ancient monstrous god-like being, it got tiring for her to repeatedly think "I don't know what to say". And like most teens, Seanna shows her anger in inappropriate outbursts. The exciting part is that what works here really works. You want to read more and know more. I am looking forward to reading the second book. I am hoping Seanna grows into a strong woman while learning to balance the life that wasn't forced onto her.
Romance is not my type of read; however, "Butterfly Harvest" contains enough mystery, action and intrigue to keep me interested in . . . and to finish Ms. Campbell's first installment in a three part series.
I am glad I did finish it - beauty, betrayal, immortality, loss and self-progression are just a few glimpses into this elegantly written book - which I will read again.
Strongly recommended for male as well as female readers. You will take something important with you after finishing "Butterfly Harvest." What it is, is up to you, dear reader.
Reading number two in a few weeks - I wish to let this one sink in first.
A fan I have become after reading your book, Ms. Campbell. Thank you for adding to my reading experience.
This was a very curious read for me. It had sort of an insta love feel, but I'm not sure if that was because the guy forced the girl in some way to love him. Not very much of the story made sense to me until the very end...and then there were still way too many questions left unanswered. Hoping reading book 2 in the series will help clear things up, because the author really has a unique supernatural trope here!
"Things that go bump in the night really do happen." Loved it! I definitly recommend this as your top read of the summer and can not wait for the sequel!!!
