I'm an Amazon and international bestselling novelist who writes passionate romance for every taste - 'heat with heart' - for traditional publishers and indie. Booklist, Publisher's Weekly, Romantic Times, and numerous online sites have praised my work. I've won Readers' Choice Awards, was named a finalist in the EPIC competition, received a Book of the Year Award, The Golden Nib Award, awards of merit in the RWA Holt Medallion competitions, and second place in the NEC RWA contests. I'm featured in the Novel and Short Story Writer's Market. Before penning romances, I worked at a major Hollywood production company in Story Direction.

On a less serious note: I'm an admitted and unrepentant chocoholic, brake for Mexican restaurants, and have been known to moan like Meg Ryan in "When Harry Met Sally" while wolfing down tostadas. I've flown a single-engine airplane (freaking scary), rewired an old house using an 'electricity for dummies' book, and am horribly shy despite the hot romances I write.

She’s fighting a losing battle against a jealous rival’s curse that forces Jasmine to seek carnal pleasure, no matter the danger. Max has a raw sexuality that just might be enough to break the curse, so Jasmine only has one choice – imprison him in her bed and feed on his passion. He’s no woman’s sex slave, but Mike senses her vulnerability and desperation. Mike resurrects his telekinetic power to free himself so he can find the curse’s source and defeat it before the curse takes Jasmine’s life.

‘The Yearning’ is a very suspenseful, engaging story that is as scorching hot as it is emotionally gripping ensuring that readers can’t put the story down. The characters are strong and believable, making sure that readers can understand that everything that they are going through and the relationship is full of steamy, red hot passion and turbulent emotions that singes the readers’ fingertips as they turn the pages. The plot is steady paced and while it doesn’t have a lot of action and the finding of and dealing with of the jealous rival is a little on the fast side, it still has the readers biting their nails in suspense and wonder, while also providing a few chuckles.

This is one crazy book. The beginning made my eyeballs pop out of my head. The middle is written pretty well, and the end was kind of a let down.

I’m not even sure why I continued past the 25% mark, except for the fact that the first epic sex scene in this book is so off the wall, crazy that it amused me. (It definitely didn’t make me lust after any of the characters) After this ridiculous beginning, I actually enjoyed this story. Jasmine has been cursed. A witch, Desiree became extremely jealous that Jasmine had eyes for the man she was after. After stalking Jasmine ruthlessly, she finally catches up with her, and curses her – saying Jasmine will now feel the lust she felt. She makes Jasmine crave men – but it can’t just be any man. It must be a man that is somewhat out of her league that Jasmine would normally have a little lust over. This curse has caused Jasmine to “pick” men who end up abusing her in the past. So she is very wary of who she takes home. But she must have sex to feed this curse. She has two sisters who follow her around trying to keep her safe, and a good friend, Ben who lives with this crew who also is there to protect her to the best of his ability.

Michael is a former Secret Service Agent who also has a telekinetic gift. He once used that gift to stop a bullet from hitting him, that then hit his partner, killing him. Devastated by this, he has repressed this ability. He meets Jasmine at a bar and is ready to take her home to show her a good time, not knowing that this curse picked him and she now has no choice. If she doesn’t slake her lust, it will become completely out of control.

From here, we start the epic sex scene. And it is not only a sex scene, or actually a series of sex scenes that all run together, but sex scenes that are in no way sexy. The prose is so over-the-top it became hysterical rather than bring up any feelings of lust. Let’s have some examples:

Her tongue found his galloping pulse, wandering over it, loving it as she drove her slender fingers through his hair. His rod thickened in gratitude, prompting a pleased growl.

….he slanted his mouth over hers. His tongue burrowed inside. Sheltering heat greeted him, along with the taste of beer and female submission.

She tasted a hint of beer he’d drank, along with his flavor, which spoke of cleanliness and good health.

His tongue probed her inner recesses, lapping her salty dew, indulging his appetite, while ignoring hers.

At the pressure of containing him, her breathing picked up, jiggling her breasts. With unyielding purpose, his male organ squeezed through her narrow walls, commanding shelter and obedience.

That is quite a command…..

For me, these phrases are just too silly to be taken seriously. I never had a problem with Jasmine having sex, even lots of sex with Mike because of the curse. But it is just the way it is presented that did not work for me. After this sex scene, the rest of the romance in this book worked. This just seemed very out of place.

But like I said, this curse interested me. It had a somewhat eerie tone, especially with her sisters and friend Ben who are all living at the house with her waiting for violence to erupt. They are all so desperate to break this curse, which is slowly killing Jasmine. And what I find interesting is the curse takes a somewhat backseat to the new “threat” Mike. With Jasmine’s last pick an abusive man, everyone is so convinced Mike will eventually turn abusive as well. So while Mike slowly learns about this curse, and truly wants to help, the people surrounding Jasmine won’t allow him any freedom.

I think the characters are written well, and I quite enjoyed the book after the you know what scene. I did think the curse was broken in a somewhat anti-climatic way, I would have liked to see Desiree more of a threat at the end. But the conflict she causes Jasmine throughout the book definitely kept my interest.

So back to my original statement – this book is kind of crazy. Not sure if I can recommend it – but I did want to finish it.

As an avid reader of author Tina Donahue, I have come to love her attention to detail which give her readers a skillful visual description through the written word. These free flowing, well-written details are what make her books worth reading and make you feel like you are a fly on the wall watching the plot play out.

I have to say, there is nothing like a man with a Harley to jump-start a woman’s heart, especially if that man is tall, dark, and handsome.

When Jasmine Dante is cursed by a jealous rival, she has to find a man to help her through the yearning without putting herself in any more danger. She knows very little about former US Marshal Mike Stearn except he oozes raw sexuality and seems like a nice man.

Knowing that this is the first paranormal story Ms. Donahue has written, I wanted to read it to see if it was as good as her other books. It was.

There are very few authors that I know of that can write in such descriptive detail without losing the flow of the plot or going overboard and becoming boring. I am still wondering about the erotic effects of tugging the hair peeking from beneath a man’s arms but, hey it worked for them! One thing you cannot help do is laugh when you read how a woman teases a man to the point of no return, or when a man says he has to have his condoms custom made. Ms. Donahue has a way of phrasing things that will keep you chuckling through out the book. However, she also keeps you on your toes while trying to guess what’s going to happen next.

I couldn't close this book until the end! However, The Yearning is not a quick read so you may miss some sleep (like I did). I do love how Ms. Donahue twisted a tale of a witch's curse, a man with telekinesis, two sisters, a frying pan, and handcuffs into a hot love story. My friends are going to love this book and I hope to see more paranormal themes from Ms. Donahue as she did a wonderful job on this one.

This book was a little hard for me to get into in the beginning. Though there is lots of steamy sex (lots and lots) I didn't feel as connected to the characters as I like to be by the time they're rolling around in bed together (or in an alley way, or the hallway floor).

But I'm very glad I kept with it, once it was clear the characters emotions were involved (and I'm not just speaking of the hero and herione) it was very effecting. The conflicts were real and intense. You could definitely see why either of the characters believed there was no future. The writing took in every sensation and definitely brought you right into the moment from the very beginning.

I also loved the paranomal aspects, because they felt so seamless and real. You never doubted them, they were never explained (which actually often destroys the magic for me). They were just a part of this world. As normal and natural as paying a bill.

All and all I really enjoyed Mrs Donahue's first foray into the paranomal, and can't wait to see what she comes up with next.

I hear the language used in the sex scenes are a bit over the top. Someone tweeted excerpts and I am both laughing and rolling my eyes. I think I will give this book a shot. If I can attempt to stomach Frank's hero's name of Bronze, then surely I can attempt to deal with turgid member seeking shelter. LOLz

Book one in the The Wanderers series and I want to read the next book. Jasmine Dante and Former Deputy U.S. Marshal Mike Stearn's story has suspense, drama, twists, turns, curses, an evil woman, and romance. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I was interested in the beginning but very quickly lost interest once he agrees to help her. I find its a weak story and the sex is getting boring. Did not finish.
