Samael Aun Weor (which is a Hebrew name) wrote over sixty books, gave thousands of lectures, and formed the worldwide Gnostic Movement, whose members number in the millions. Though these accomplishments are certainly impressive by any standard, they are merely the pale terrestrial reflection of the work he accomplished internally, spiritually. And yet, in spite of his wisdom and generosity towards mankind, he said:
"Do not follow me. I am just a signpost. Reach your own Self-realization."
His lifelong mission was to deliver to humanity the complete path toward the realization of the inner Being, or in other words, the total and exact science required by anyone of any religion, race, culture or creed who wishes to fully and completely develop the human soul. The path he taught is the Path of the Bodhisattva, that mysterious and ancient wisdom long hidden in the bosom of every great religion.
"For as long as space endures and for as long as the world lasts, may I live dispelling the miseries of the world." - From The Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life by Shantideva
Another amazing book by Weor. There are two types of knowledge: the eye doctrine and the heart doctrine. The eye doctrine is for those who are satisfied with spiritual theories and the heart doctrine is for authentic initiates. Heart doctrine is knowledge found within. The eye doctrine comes to us through deduction and the heart doctrine through intuition. The eye doctrine is human; it is produced by the intellect. The heart doctrine is divine; it is produced by the Internal Master. This book is esoteric astrology; this will open up the doors of knowledge of the heart. This book on practical magic and esoteric hermetic astrology. These studies are based on light and the heart.
This is a very cool book, but I only rate it 3 stars because it covers such a narrow range of material. Basically, it has a section for each zodiac, with a few pages of some interesting information about esoteric astrology for that sign. Then it has some brief descriptions of exercises an initiate may benefit from based on their sign. For example, certain mantras or meditation methods. I would have liked there to learn more information from Samael Aun Weor about a huge variety of astrological topics. This book just felt like a tease or a trailer in many ways.
I like to break out this book at the beginning of every sign. The exercises really help you to start to see the Microcosm within the Macrocosm. "Frankly, we do not like to spend our lives theorizing; we get to the point. We are tired of so much theory. We are essentially “realistic.” We want deeds, not theories or morbid intellects. We like effective realities. We head towards great realizations. All the spiritualist schools talk to you about supra-sensible worlds, but we go beyond that because we are more practical."
