I bought this before the Chilton manual thinking it was going to be a more 'beginner' introduction to the Jeep maintenance world. Boy was I wrong. This book assumes you know way more about your vehicle than I do. It wasn't much help to me (yet) but I think it might be in the future as I learn more.

This focuses heavily on 'off road' use of your Jeep, which I'm not planning on doing. It covers the CJ decently and apparently the author has a love affair going with the TJ...the YJ is treated like a bastard child who doesn't get much love.

I actually learned more from the Chilton manual than this...but I'll keep it around and refer back to it occasionally to see if I can follow that the heck they're talking about.

great book for beginners... hardly look at it though... tends to focus on bob tail jeeps, trail survival and so on... lots of very useful basic mechanic information... if you're not trained as a mechanic and want to work on your jeep, you need this book.
