For as long as she can remember, Joan Hohl has always wanted to be a writer. Her mother said Joan had her head in the clouds, always daydreaming. The only thing was, Joan's daydreams had plots!

I didn't realize how much I liked these characters until I kept thinking about them hours after I'd finished the book. Was slow in places but an enjoyable read.
This is one of those older "we're married, but he doesn't love me, so I have to hide the fact that I love him, and we have a bunch of misunderstandings" books. It wasn't as bad as most, because, with the exception of him raping her on their wedding night, he's not horribly mean to her, just negligent. Still not my favorite storyline.
The way Katherine jumps from present to past gets a little confusing, makes for an ineresting read though. Realistic way married couples dont always communicate well and how people can read into things that are not really there.
