Dr. Rogers' research interests include: forensic evaluation (Miranda, competency to stand trial, insanity), validation of structured interviews, and psychological assessment.

Not an easy read, but absolutely excellent information – on both clinical (unstructured interview) and psychometric evaluation methods (structured interview methods) to detect malingering and deception of mental illness. This book is particularly strong in information for distinguishing between malingered and genuine psychosis. An absolutely essential text for anyone concerned with forensic interviewing.

If you perform emergency psychiatric evaluations or forensic interviews, you would benefit from reading this book. To use a colloquial phrase, it is a gospel.
