Do you want to learn the basics of economics, but have no clue how to search 'economics' on Youtube? Are you the type of person who hates illustrations and easy to grasp examples? Are you looking for the perfect gift to give a person you don't like? Look no further.
This book does a mediocre job of providing definitions for economic terms and sometimes makes sense of certain topics. For that reason, I can say, unequivocally, that you will probably learn more about Econ by reading this book than by falling into a coma.
More often than not, however, it reads like a worse version of the Wikipedia page on economics. Certainly few books on economics will be colorful, but reading the "plain english" used in this fire-fuel of a book is like eating a mayonnaise sandwich on saltine bread.
Do yourself a favor and pass on this one.

I read this for class, it was fine and accessible.

Economics can be difficult to understand, especially with the algebra and graphs. However, this book explained clearly and simply most of the concepts from macroeconomics. I can say that the author was an expert, as well as passionate about explaining the craft to laymen. If you need a refresher on the basic principles or want to learn economics in a non intimidating way, I recommend this book to you.

I read this in preparation for the FSOT. No telling if it will help at this point, but the book was clear and I think I learned some things, so yay!
