The idea of using different perspectives to give an overview of the war was very effective, but I found the choppiness of the sentences distracting. It was hard to get into each person's story because of the writing style.

Still, it is a good introduction to WWI for students who are interested in doing more reading on their own and are trying to narrow down a topic--a very quick read.
