Our heroes must evade Stormtroopers, outwit Darth Vader, and steal plans to the Death Star. With a little luck, they might even manage to save the galaxy! Readers can explore the Death Star, a Jawa Sandcrawler, the Tantive IV, the Cantina, and the Millennium Falcon!
Miloš: Oh. I loved how Han knew all along what he was going to do.
Pa: What do you mean?
Miloš: I mean, how he says what he has to do. So he has to save the princess, escape the Death Star, help blow it up, save the princess again, get stuck into ...
Pa: But what does Han do in this book?
Miloš: He really does nothing. We barely get to see him.
Pa: Okay, so what do you like about this book?
Miloš: I like that there are signs like "Destroy the Death Star" with an arrow pointing. That was funny.
Pa: What else?
Miloš: Ummm ...
Pa: You're not in the mood are you?
Miloš: No, I'm just thinking about what else I like about it.
Pa: Sounds pretty forgettable.
Miloš: No. I love how there's a monkey on the thing where Leia and Luke swang.
Pa: So they do cheesy stuff?
Miloš: Yeah, and I love how all the people thought that the Millenium Falcon was a can opener, and that Luke thaought that all the droids were mailboxes.
Pa: It sounds like something out of MAD magazine.
Miloš: yeah, but it's not anything out of MAD Magazine.
Pa: But you really liked it?
Miloš: Yeah. I think that's all I liked about it, but yeah it was good.
I love that Scholastic has incorporated Star Wars Legos into their line of great books for kids. Not only does my son love to play with these great lego sets, but now he can read about them. The illustrations are great and look similar to the Star Wars Lego games, which is another huge hit in our home. If you can't tell, Star Wars legos are a big thing in our home right now. Having the book to add to the craziness of Star Wars is a huge plus for me, as having something in book form that my son enjoys encourages him to read it.
This is a MUST HAVE for Star Wars fans of all ages. Not only is this durable board book perfect for younger fans, but the lines are comical and ones that adults will enjoy. I don't know who was more excited about reviewing this book, my son or me. Next time you're at the store I highly recommend picking this book up. It's a fun read that will capture the attention of all Star Wars, both young and old.

I cannot believe that they told the main story of Star Wars in 12 ages of graphic novel-style board book. This story was amazing. For fans of Star Wars this will be a great book to start your children on the stories. For fans of Lego Star Wars it is an awesome book. Some of the illustrations are of Lego packs you can buy: the X-Wing Fighter, Sand Crawler, the Millennium Falcon and more. Join Leia, Luke and Han on this version of their epic story.
Read the review and with links to other reviews of books from the Lego Star Wars Series on my blog Book Reviews and More.
Don't over look this oversized board book as a kiddy adaptation of 'A New Hope'. It's actually filled with some great comedic lines that will entertain both the young AND old. Add to the fact that this isn't just a tiny board book, but a durable oversized (think picture book size)one and I'd find a Star Wars fan hard pressed not to pick this title up!
It is a large size board book - but for the older than board book set. It tells the story of Star Wars: A New Hope with Lego characters and (often humorous) variations on original dialog.
Love the beginning when Darth Vader boards and announces, "Surprise! You've been Darth IN-VADER-ED!"
It will be a huge hit with my Star Wars and Lego fans.
Cartoon version of the Star Wars story. Bought this to stall our 4yo who is desperate to watch Star Wars. His parents, funnily enough, can wait to deal with the six million questions we will have to field as a result, not to mention having to get him through several scenes in the film (trash compacter anyone?) that still scare me!
Definitely worth the buy--it's funny and condensed well, and cute to look at. All my kids (ranging 4-10) enjoy it, and so do we, the adults. It's pretty short, so don't expect anything in detail.
